Some people (not necessarily you) only take money into account for things like this.

Corpos like Phase have proven the ability to offer stability, a solid management base to handle a bunch of shit many people don't want to, merch, concerts, events, etc.

And even aside from this stuff, it offers a place to be apart of something bigger than just as an individual. For the most part, all the Phase girls get along well with many of them forging actual IRL friendships. Sure, everyone has individual goals they're reaching for, but being able to accomplish big things alongside your friends/genmates is big too. The individuals of Phase Origins have their individual achievments, but them being able to stand together as a group and grow together and accomplish big things together is a great thing itself too. Having a sense of belonging somewhere means something to some people. Listening to the recent Invaders collabs has shown how happy they are together as a group. It's possible to have this as an indie, but this sort of thing is more prevalent in a corpo, such as Phase.

I agree that there are plenty of indies out there that wouldn't see any additional growth in audience or income by joining Phase, so they have no reason to join Phase for that, but there are plenty of other reasons why someone may want to join somewhere like Phase or at least entertain the idea.

She is the first of those I watched who literally cried during “that” scene in the prologue.

Casual fans won’t get a fursuit. Those things range from $1,000 to $ 5,000, lower end prices you can get from Indonesia or Philippines (and those might be only partial suits) and higher end prices you’ll probably get from Japan which also requires winning a raffle with a six-month lead time and upfront deposit.

If she gets a Taobao version from China it’s probably some other existing design, which is fine if you’re wearing it solely in anime conventions but you’ll get judged hard if you wear it to an actual furry convention.
