Idk I think the best bet is to get him started with older Pippa clips, then get him into clips of the other popular talents and then he can choose for himself who to watch. From my experience starting with full streams/vods doesn't work out well.
There are plenty of VODs. You don't need new streams if you've never watched her before. Just watch VODs.
If your friend doesn't really watch vtubers, some suggestions on what games they like, what hobbies they have, or what other YouTube content they like might help.
I watch a lot of VODs, but part of the fun of being a vtuber fan is watching live, interacting with other audience members, sharing funny moments and so forth. You lose that when you watch VODs.
Honestly, despite an abundance of new Phase clippers popping up over the course of 2024, i'd still say LEC is my go-to recommendation for "i wanna discover Phase and don't have a specific person in mind".

I'm not recommending Pippa, I think Pippa is a good introduction to Phase, she has a lot of funny clips on her own and with other talents so it's a good way to find out about other Phase girls as well. Panko doesn't have that many good clips on youtube sadly (because the best ones can't get posted since it's just her saying the n word and being racist) and because she doesn't collab much with other Phase girls I don't think it's a good start off point to learn about the other talents.> Italian raccoon

Same, I think most people who watch Phase got in that way. Imo Pippa is the gateway drug to the sadgirl company, you come for Pippa but you stay for the other talents.
