The bar for fair use is higher for commercial use but it's still a valid defense. In most countries you can't copyright a style and even direct copying of a small except is not generally copyright infringement (unless it's something so iconic that it's valuable in itself), and human artists have been copying styles and copying small pieces for decades or more. And in Japan the government have explicitly declared that AI training is ok and not copyright infringement.
I really don't see anyone who's copyright has been infringed in this case, certainly not to the extent of being able to win a lawsuit in Japan. (Popular opinion is a different matter)

AI only hurts people who can't quickly learn to be at the level where AI can't beat them in quality (as it will always beat them at speed anyway). It does suck because there is a chance you would have a god tier artist who is just slow, but they quit the industry because they needed money to eat and pay rent (anime had this problem for years as in-betweeners are paid peanuts and often quit before they can draw keyframes, but nobody wants to pay even keyframes artists good money). But it also trims the fat of subpar people who couldn't offer a competitive product and were only able to continue because there was a demand for low quality low price that they fulfilled. Many professions of the past that went through automatization are still a thing, it's just a competition is so fierce barely anyone even considers to apply themselves to it. If you are an artist and you don't want to offer anything other than thumblr level of fanart - you are dead, it's reality. Learn to be better or offer additional services that machine can't do. This is literally why Iofi is so butthurt about it, but others don't even talk about it, she is squarely in the category that will go extinct
Edit: When you think about it, all of this fanartists are actually a product of automatization themselves, it used to be that you need to use real paint and canvas and know how to mix powders and chemicals to draw. But now you just use a PC. There was no ctrl+Z, there was no filters, no autofill tool. And yet they are all so eager to use it

I didn't, I got Affinity Suite. It's not as good yet but they have good workflow ideas, at least for vector play. Could be better for lineart though, Illustrator/ClipStudio still clears Designer. Got it because it's buy to own, same for Davinci license.
While I'm thankful for Adobe (mostly Corel, honestly) opening the way, fuck subscription model, I hope they crash and burn.
