This is cool but I don't trust someone without prior knowledge on how to run a tournament to get it from the get go. If the devs are involved (there's people from the fgc there) it could do great, so good luck.

I'm tempted to join up, too, as I had ~8 years of playing competitively. Medical condition killed my ability to go to locals and tournaments, then the woke virus killed the scene, so even thinking about fighting games these days just depresses me.
However, if I can lay down the smack to represent the Capipis, I'll pull out my custom hitbox and learn this game. Has Rie posted any details about it? Like, do we know for sure it's Idol Shodown? And how does signing up for the tournament work?

No idea, they're still drip-feeding teasers of the Phase members in the art style of the game, with their stats, although we don't know what that means for the upcoming tournament, except they'll probably be playing the game.
Apparently Rie has also been in contact with at least one of the developers to help organize this event and has been the main person organizing it, for whatever that's worth.
Most likely just playing Idol showdown, mayyyyyyybe using a mod to get custom alternate colors on the characters. Anything else would be too much fucking work just for a simple tourney and take upwards of 6 months of pure developer work. But who knows.
