You're not wrong, but Jersh makes some valid points. There is a choice to be made and it has to do with you 'choosing' to work through your mental illness or succumbing to the debilitating discourse that "all is lost" because you think there is no other way to "fix" it. I've seen extreme cases of depression, lived through a few loses because of it, and well, it is a shit mood disorder. Deep down people who suffer from it do want help, but no amount of help will come through and push them to seek it, unless they want to force themselves to go through those feelings, fatigue, and above all, any trauma attached to it. Unfortunately, we are living in times that people have chosen to make their depression their whole personality and sell it as some quirky trait, when it isn't and shouldn't be glorified. Like you also said, there is always that push that 'pills' will make everything better and it really doesn't if there is no other work to be done within your life to actively want that change.
