This Triggers me and other fans of card games + Hololive : For one side Bushiroad Card Game IPs dont last long or need life support but like always i will trust the autism of the Holo fanbase to keep it alive.
Now the important question: Will it need resources? What kind? Cards? Energy?
Can I nuke a board full of different Gura cards with my Moona cards?
Will it need keywords to explain card mechanics? How easy would it be to learn?
Can i summon Yagoo? Is he a Insta Win Condition?
Can i have a deck of a gazillion cards just like the first years of YGO or will it have a deck size limit?

easy solution, online game/client as a joint publishing deal between Bushiroad and Holo Indie, like the Cardfight!! Vanguard Dear Days game

if licensing fees are a bitch, they could follow a similar DLC model for individual idol themed accessories, card backs, deck holders, play mats, coins/dice/tokens - and that's before actual expansion packs, theme decks, and A.I. Opponents

the monetization writes itself, and since it's digital, it's an incredibly high profit margin for the niche userbase that would buy in

This is just a continuation of their Alone in the Dark sponsored content. I'm not sure who invited whom originally though.

I'm kind of sad that their POV is the only one that isn't available.

It says right there that they are sponsoring Demondice so she Invited Kson

As big as some of them are, she would still need to lose 20-30 kg to fit in without the pants exploding

I'm very doubtful about how successful the prospective Holo card game will be.

The first problem is that the card autists are already heavily invested in their crack of choice already. They've invested so much resources in collecting cards as well as learning strategies, combos and practicing the game. Childhood nostalgia is a hell of a thing, and so is the sunk cost fallacy. Some of these TCG fans might be Hololive/Holostar fans and might buy some packs or a box of cards for something different, but more in the view of a temporary fad they'll try before going back to their main TCG money and time sink.

The other problem is that it will have a very niche appeal. You have to specifically like Holo Vtubers and want to spend hundreds of dollars to want to get invested in the card collecting. If you just want cute anime girls and/or cool anime guys, games like Yugioh, Weiss-Schwartz, and Pokemon are already taking care of you pretty well. And that very niche appeal means you're going to struggle to do the other part of a TCG, which is playing a game, because that's a two-player activity, and you'd need to find someone else who fits into that autistic venn diagram that you do. Without many people to play against, I don't see the game lasting long-term.

They should have just stuck to the Weiss-Schwarz collabs and raked in the licencing money instead.

Which won't stop me from ruining my wallet to import a box... or five.

They'll be talking about it more tomorrow but currently, they're doing an 800k Suika Game "endurance."

"Endurance" because they reached it in only 40 minutes.

Yugioh in the west is ran horribly, exploitive and awful quality, short prints, up'd rarities and worse printing stock. Just compare OCG and TCG prices on new 'must have' cards. I play because it's fun not because it's a smart idea.
Weiss is niche from my understanding of it and most of it's art is fairly generic sadly and it's still around.
And.. Pokemon is fucking pokemon and by all accounts are running the TCG expertly compared to anyone else for price of entry compared to any of the other TCG's save maybe Digimon if I recall.

It's cardboard, it's a very profitable business venture presuming it sells and it's not just a god awful game to play. And it's fucking Hololive. They would have to self sabotage for it not to at least make some cash. Even if the game itself is terrible and poorly balanced it's a collectors wet dream and the hype of opening packs for influences for a large brand? It's EZ hype sponsorships and content for card nerds.

Personally I don't expect it to be more than collectors item and maybe a tournament or two. Also no idea if it will even get a western release, I know the western account retweeted it so maybe they will? But to act like the company with millions of fans wouldn't be able to turn a profit off of cardboard sounds absurd to me unless they decide to pull a "hold my beer" after looking at how Konami handles the western Yugioh scene.
