(Edit: Nenelove is not a Sanalite, I just happened to go off on one here about her.)
I don't know why people cling to this idea. She didn't want to be a vtuber and very quickly decided not to, then ran out her contract till she could dip. To this day she has never done any other vtuber work, acknowledged her former fans, or done anything of the sort. If her 'back injury' prevented her from streaming, what was it about art that enabled her to do that instead? Did sitting in a chair drawing magically alleviate it, while sitting in a chair streaming made it worse?
You can't take constant breaks while streaming, while with art, you can easily do spurts of work 10-15 minutes at a time and take a an extended break break. Even then, with a tablet, you can easily do art laying down, too. You can't do VTubing laying down. By all accounts, her back injury was fine by the time of her graduation. She even said it had nothing to do with her graduation, despite Cover telling her to not discuss the reason. The only people claiming otherwise were fans and people whining about how it was faked.
Her excuses were all copes, and I have no idea why her fans are so desperate to pretend they weren't dumped by someone who never even put the smallest, most insignificant amount of effort into reconnecting or leveraging her past life success. You don't drop a career as one of the largest streamers on earth with hundreds of thousands of subscribers (even the lowest-CCV'd Holo is still in the top 0.001% of streamers worldwide) with such complete and total finality if you were just forced out by circumstance and totally wanted to stay.
What good would reconnecting to her streaming persona do for her? She isn't a streamer, there is little to no crossover between that. Despite what rrats you may be reading on /vt/ she never started blocking every obvious holofans. The only people she blocked were dumbasses openly connecting her pastlife on Twitter (
detailed here). This is also easily debunked by just going to any Twitter post of hers and seeing the wave of people with Hololive oshimarks in the replies.
I also don't know who exactly you mean when you say people thought she obviously wanted to stay. I doubt anyone here thinks that. Myself and
@God's Strongest Mozumite are probably the notable Sanalites and I don't think either one of us have ever subscribed to the notion that she left due to back injuries or against her wishes, especially not after she clarified she was not having issues anymore.
She got told by her Chinese overlords to stop being Hololive or stop doing the gachishit she was a terminal addict of, and like the average woman, decided that she'd rather be a gachishit addict than someone with a loving and supportive fanbase.
This is a complete rrat. I've said it before, I'll say it again. It was always a priority thing. Between behind the scenes work and her real job, she said she was doing stints of 40+ hours straight being awake to meet holo and art deadlines. That is not sustainable. Obviously she would prioritize the job that was making her money. People seem to vastly underestimate how much behind-the-scenes work they do in holo, which has only gotten to be more since 2022.
I also love how people forget that Ina and Calli also admitted to almost quitting in 2022 over overworking themselves and forget all the major management issues EN had during that whole year. I am not sure why you get so mad over the fact that Sana didn't like streaming or the job and think people are coping over it when I don't think I have ever seen people do so in a very long time. People are allowed to miss her while also understanding she had shortfalls, same goes for Vesper, Magni, Coco, and anyone else. The reason why people like Lando and Kson take more shit than Namie or Randon is because the latter have obviously moved on.
If you are asking people to hate her for quitting a job that she didn't end up liking (which is something that happens all the time in any other job), then sounds like you are a little obsessed over the whole thing, to be honest. The nepo-hire thing also falls short when that is literally an industry-wide thing at this point. Holo JP is basically one big nepo-hire. Phase Connect is becoming ex-Tsunderia. Niji EN is all nepo hires, Vshojo is ex-Nijisanji, etc.
Tl;dr - It has almost been 2 years and I really don't understand why people are still viscerally mad over it when it rarely gets discussed and the person in question has long-since moved on. It is especially amusing to see someone who has no vested interested in Holo being more angry over it than actual fans lol.
