While I have no comment on the circumstances that led to the matter, I feel massively disappointed and disgusted that the larger games media space seems more interested in using me to one-up my managing editor… instead of discussing any of the harassment I’ve experienced

Obviously there is some insider baseball talk within the industry about Waypoint and Phil's editor. And considering that:
1. Vice Media previously shuttered Waypoint and only recently revived it with cheap authors;
2. Most people are unaware about Waypoint;
3. People who do know about it hate it for being "nu-waypoint" as a result of the previous shuttering and mass layoffs; and
4. Phil is a liability, and probably isn't the only liability they hired;
I think it's likely that there may be talks of just shutting down Waypoint again, and honestly nothing of value would be lost if that happened. If I was sitting in that boardroom, I'd look at the failure of Polygon, the near failure of Kotaku, and ask why would we need a video games division? The company would be better off hiring mid video game reviewers from youtube under the main media brand to talk about video games than hiring Phil and his ilk for pennies, at least they would get some ad revenue then.

Almost (maybe literally) every article they've written for Vice so far is NSFW. Did Vice higher-ups not know about this? They didn't like what they read when reviewing the output of their low-level journalist in light of code of conduct issues, maybe?

Acting like a moral bastion with some of the shit he's posted along the way that paints him as a similarly vile and abhorrent person as the classic image of their touted political opposition was once known for should always be met with unquestioned push back. "Normal" coomer shit is ultimately harmless so long as you're sane about it. Anal Violence has repeatedly demonstrated he is not sane about it, I would consider him a safety risk. Someone like that, who is dumb enough to also have been public with it, does not deserve to ever touch a position where they interact with the public to any degree. No opinion piece writing, no social media connection, not even food service because I wouldn't trust him not to tamper with people's food either.

I would whole heartedly support a job at an amazon warehouse though.
