It's also to stop clippers, even though it doesn't work since they use those workarounds you mentioned, because if a clipper uploads part of a stream before it's finished, it can fuck with the Youtube autodetection and flags the clip as the original stream and their stream as reupload.

thats really funny when I watch a Kiara stream and she does something funny in the first hour or two and then 7 hours later the stream finishes and the clipper uploads that thing 1 minute after the stream is done. He had time to edit, subtitle and all that within the same Kiara stream

I can relate to a degree having been slow AF in getting out of my own shithole state (not as bad as CA yet but the politicians are hellbent on turning it into one and have a supermajority) but part of it is my career is not so easily portable (even if I were mostly remote I'd still need to be within a certain distance of client sites) while on the other hand a full-time streamer can just pack up and move to anywhere else that has solid fast internet. Fully remote work makes it so much easier to move, we have friends who took their jobs with them when they moved out of state as their employers had gone fully remote and gotten rid of the physical office entirely.
