I'm not a finance guy but 50.25% of the Cover's stock seems to be of the non-voting kind and Yagoo owns 36.78% of the remainder. So does that not mean Shareholders won't be able mandate company activities but they can(and do) kick up a fuss in AGMs(see retarded questions from the last meeting summarised in one of the other threads)?

If this thread gets an OP it needs to be this, I am fucking TIRED of "da shareholders" being used as a boggieman when in reality their only power is to bitch and get called stupid at meetings.

Things Cover's shareholders can do:

• Bitch
• Make idiotic suggestions
• Play with each other's money
• Pump the stock
• Dump the stock

Things Cover's shareholders can't do:

• Directly influence company decisions
• Oust Yagoo
• Fire or hire anyone in the company
• Buy a majority share of the stock from each other
• Vote on company decisions
• Get on the board of directors through stock
• Get dividends or any kind of money from the company
• Get sex favors from the talents
• Directly influence company direction

When you read between the lines, especially with Japanese businesses, shareholders kicking up a fuss can easily lead to decisions made a CEO normally may not want to make or push companies into directions employees may not fully agree with. That is my point in saying "basically that." Outside of vtubing space, we've seen it happen with a lot of JP gaming studios, some leading to complete closures outright. There's a reason people always mock the way Japanese businesses are ran.

IDK how many times is said this already but COVER its on series b shares wich are designed to allow the founders (Yagoo and Fukuda) of the company to maintain ownership over their company (as both of them own most of the shares) as well to control the direction
So shareholders havent done shit, see their meeting for the most dumb ideas in the history of vtubing

People here do not read these (because they're boring as hell), I have to summarize them and spoonfeed everyone if I want anyone to do so.

Anyway investors are plenty happy with how big Cover is growing even with the grads, they pumped and dumped the stock and I'm sure some a few of them profited, the bitching at meetings is mostly just theater at this point.
