I'm not a finance guy but 50.25% of the Cover's stock seems to be of the non-voting kind and Yagoo owns 36.78% of the remainder. So does that not mean Shareholders won't be able mandate company activities but they can(and do) kick up a fuss in AGMs(see retarded questions from the last meeting summarised in one of the other threads)?

A little late to this, but Yagoo has de facto control of the company until the day he decides he doesn't want it. It was a really clever setup, but it's basically a replication of how Google was setup for 20 years. Cover did need to go public because they had actual investors to get a return for. The Japanese public stock company stuff is also different enough from either American or European ones that it's not quite an apples to apples comparison. You can't have activist investors buy in and get any actual say, as the transcripts of the reporting meetings are pretty clear about.

One funny thought I had some time ago, but which I never bothered to look into, was if any of Gen 0 had any equity positions on Cover. With one of the most hilarious self-doxxes that was just sitting out there in the open for years. Not that 85% of the Cover talents aren't known to a large degree already.
