Isn't there a Squat faction now? When do they become playable and headline a game?
They were introduced in 9th edition (its now 10th) and they ŵere pretty broken despite having very little model variety, 10th nerfed them into the ground and there are still no major new units or muh lore afaik.

it's gonna be that way for a while i suspect untill SOMETHING happens with them theres no incentive.

and due to how GW works untill SOMETHING happens the odds of getting a new model lore or 3rd thing (aka something happening) is rock bottom.

The leagues of votannnnNnnn, which are so lackluster and bland that any player I've encountered IRL just quotes Rock & Stone.

You'd think it would be easy to write space dwarves, I mean dwarves themselves are so rich and full of charisma, so nuanced, in contrast to the fucking boring space marines of the imperium or the stoic and aloof elves, but this is GW we're talking about. They have accountants, not writers, coming up with fluff.

Apparently the original Squats were discontinued because GW couldn't think of anything to do with them beyond making them space bikers. I'm not sure why green football hooligans in space was considered interesting enough, but dwarf bikers in space wasn't, but as you said, this is GW we're talking about.

GW probably crunched numbers and shat out the army to finally fill in the dorf niche after video games and memes made them seemingly profitable. One of the most famous fantasy dorf characterizations besides LotR or WoW dorfs is probably Warhammer dorfs too. So they just let the already present memetic culture make shit up while they see how they can pander to people who dont actually consoom their models

Wouldn't that just be Siren

:BijouBijou:

Isn't Americana fairly important to Silent Hill especially since Silent Hill specifically is an American city based off of the works of King and Twin Peaks with a hell of a lot of Jacobs Ladder in

:BijouBijou:

How is Silent Hill 1, 2 or 3 really all that Japanese outside of the developer.

Silent Hill f really feels like Silent Hill 4 all over again: a game made to not be Silent Hill but then forced to by the publisher.

This is not Team Silent, however, and the time has long since passed. Whether it'll be good or not, I have no idea, but it won't be Silent Hill.

Don't get me started on Resident Evil 4.

RE4 isn't horror, it's suspense, and really good at it :inanerdy:

Serial Experiments Lain is getting some kind of spinoff 'Occult RPG' game that will release on April 30th.

It used to be a requirement to own regular Call to Arms but that was removed around the release of the Liberation DLC.
So, I think the devs were mistaken that it was a flash sale when it was the Spring Sale, since it is still currently 90% off well after 24 hours. Still bought it though, thanks!

The very short time period was the game being featured on the Steam front page, not the sale period. But the news post tagline said otherwise.

Have fun with the game! As I said previously, the Normal difficulty is the lowest you should go due to defense wave timers scaling with difficulty. Also, the artillery tutorial mission takes forever to complete without speeding up (backspace key).

Well, yes, that makes sense because it doesn't take place in Silent Hill, or even America. I'm wondering if they'll find a way to link it to Silent Hill.

I'm expecting it to be good, I'm not really expecting it to be a Silent Hill game though.

(Edit: I think if I were in charge of the project, I'd make the connection something like "This postcard from Silent Hill was accidentally misdelivered to this random Japanese town.")

27 years after the anime's release. Talk about the devs striking while the iron's still hot.

>The next game from the project lead of Fallout 76 has been scaled back amid rough industry seas.
Lol Lmao
>You may remember Wyrdsong from Gamescom Opening Night Live, where it was announced three years ago as a trippy new open-world RPG from veterans of Skyrim, Fallout and The Outer Worlds.
No I don't.
>Unfortunately, its developer, Something Wicked Games, has not had access to the infamously deep coffers of the Templars. Back in 2022, the studio was funded by a $13.2 million seed investment from NetEase.
Mmm, Chingchong money. Especially, when they're pulling out of their Western acquisitions.
>In the meantime, the developer has scaled back even more. Gardiner's co-founder Charles Staples, who had been design director on The Outer Worlds and lead level designer on Fallout: New Vegas, recently took a job at Disney. Starfield lead quest designer Will Shen, who quit Bethesda to work on Wyrdsong, is now a lead designer at the studio behind Subnautica instead.
Pretty sure Shen was the only average writer at Bethesda in a sea of subpar to criminally shit. He was at least the brains behind Far Harbor.

I have to wonder how good these games are if I keep hearing praises about them but they're never seemingly made huge waves.
I didn't want to flood the general thread so I moved it here, but to answer your question: It's a mix of the translation being stuck in development hell (some dude almost killed himself from the stress) and Falcom's past boneheaded decisions/apathy towards the western market (releasing Cold Steel in the West while skipping the Crossbell games, messing up the chronological order). It's only very recently that (almost) all the games in the series are available in the West. We're only missing Kai no Kiseki which released in Japan last Fall. Now you can play through the games without any weird gaps and I think the remake of the very first game coming out this year will introduce a whole new wave of fans similar to Persona 3 Reload.
