I think the problem with Valens is that, for some reason, she thinks people are going to judge ALL OF VTUBING because of some weirdo.
That is a reflection of this political operator belief of the "general vtuber community" that doesn't exist instead of understanding, like most people, that multiple subgroups exist separated from each other, and who common characteristic is using a virtual avatar and that is. What some subgroup does doesn't affect others.
Its futile to question it, this has been his MO and deliberate attempt to elevate his petty squabbles and personal vendettas to affect more people than they should

Why people were mad about "violence in video games" in other words mouthbreathing autists who want to ruin something for everyone else.
If anyone is old enough to remember when the Columbine shooting happened, that's exactly what happened. Maybe not that he necessarily supported it, but his music and imagery were scapegoated as being a significant influence.
Now, did it have much of an impact on the music industry? No, it didn't. However, record labels have a lot more money and influence, especially back then. Not that I think that vtubing will be noticeably affected by this or anything, but it is certainly more vulnerable than the music industry was--and vtubers are ultimately beholden to the whims of the skittish platforms they stream on.

Yup, I was 14 when Columbine happened and Drosselmeyer is right. Everything was put under the microscope after this. Marilyn Manson, Goth/Loose Clothes, violent video games like GTA, etc. It all got its turn to take the blame aside from anything else that could have actually done anything about the issue.
