I hope I'm wrong, but I wonder if they're just feeding the articles through lawyers that share their creative interpretation of the world so they can then re-issue them at a later date with inconsequential edits.

You commit an inherent fallacy in your thinking, in that the only reason this is small is because people have proactively stood up and defended all of these companies and entities for them, so they didn't have to do it themselves. People like Kirsche are what enables the companies you consider 'non-political' to continue being so, because without them, the broken culture of ignoring controversy and allowing lies to be spread without response would cause even more damage than it already has.

While I agree with your skepticism, and think it's wise to prepare for more bullshit, I don't think it's likely. Vice isn't going to draw any more attention to this than they have to, Vallens is almost certainly in hot water over this shit and will probably quietly move on in a few months, and Bint has been told to cut all ties. Even if Vice could win the suit why bother?

As for the new development, I am curious to see if anything more comes from this, but until then, good victory for Kirsche on this. I will withhold too much gloating and laughing about the situation to see if anything more develops.

This is actually why I don't like people are trying to run victory just by taking down the articles. These people want to run and hide and likely use these same articles later, and Phil will be shuffled around till he fails upward.

We made the mistake with gamergate and look where we are now. These people need to have there nose stuck back into the shit they made to say what they did was bad. We already broke them by getting the articles down, so they can't do their stealth editing of a retraction, but that doesn't fix the well they already poisoned by having the articles up in the first place.
