There's actually one ok version of going public, it's how Zuck did it, where his shares have a vote and the public shares say "Lol, no goy." on them as they are ownership in name only.

Guess it depends on if there is some sorta IP buy out clause in the contract already or not, and given the time it takes for things like going public unless sakana was a megafag and tried to sneak it past something I could see him trying tbh she'd more than likely have time to negotiate with Sakana for it. Though if I'm being honest I like the owl model more.

I don't know how it's structured, but that's not what I mean.

Yes, having over 50% of the shares gives you control but that isn't the only way to structure things. For example, Berkshire A. and Berkshire B. shares have different voting weights, and in some cases there are non voting and non priority shares where the holders gain or lose value but have no say and the company has no fiduciary obligation to them.

The important thing isn't always the quantity of shares but rather how the company is structured as you can make shares that only have a value but no strings attached. It's rare, but it's something you can do.

Edit: There are also private company shares where you can put stipulations on who and when you can sell them to and what dividend they pay.
