Just extract the hard drive and dock it to the PC, you can then access it like an external drive and clone the saved files into the normal game folder on a new install.

Might be an SSD which is easier, but I'm sure you can get a dock or enclosure for cheap that takes both SSD and M2 online and then all you do is log in like normal, display hidden data for browser info, or go to the game files and user data where saved files should be located and copy paste into the same place on the new install.

An external drive dock is pretty cheap and handy to have anyway.

i agree. Since they are user serviceable, they tend to be on the way bottom under the motherboard behind a panel. Should be perfectly fine... unless river.

I'm about to go and dip various drives in a river to prove a point, those things are far more resistant to water than you'd think and usually can be dried and made functional very easily.

Unless she's trying to recover browser data all of the game saved data should be normally visible and not hidden.
