She is cute IRL, but it's always funny to see how small of a chest she has considering how much of a point she makes of it, how massive they are, point of pride, etc etc as Nerissa.

I wasn't aware myself, but from comments I'm seeing on clips of their Nekopara stream, apparently they did the official EN translation for the series when they were working their previous jobs for Project Sekai or whoever did the localization. So another tie-in for them.

On a tangent, I don't follow HL as closely now that all my favorites (Gura, Fauna, Mumei) graduated, but I still do watch a few of them (mostly Biboo and CC, occasionally Bae, IRyS, couple others) from time to time and have notifications turned on for streams from many of them in holoEN, as well as follow many on twitter, and am joined to the hololive subreddit. Even given all that, I had no idea until the YT algorithm saw fit to show me some clips that there was a pretty big Mario Kart tournament and some big Minecraft event going on? Sometimes it feels like EN (and ID) really is kind of an afterthought, unless you are like FWMC and can live there and engage directly with the JP side and insert yourself into those kind of things. I guess they know where their bread is buttered though.

It really seems like if you want to thrive in holoEN nowadays you need to move to JP (or be willing to travel there a TON) and be able to communicate in JP as well at least somewhat. It makes sense why those who didn't want to do one, the other, or especially both, ended up leaving. Could just be rrats or me out of the loop though now, as I said before I'm starting to fall behind with less incentive to keep up.
YouTube is only going to push things it thinks you will click on, regardless of whether you're subscribed or have notifications etc. My feed was full of EnReco and Shiori always pops up on my front page and shorts, as well as recommended clips because I actually watched stuff.

Side note, I don't understand your point with the Mario Kart and Minecraft event. EN and ID are an afterthought because...JP events and clips aren't being recommended to you?

But in that vein, like it or not remote workers in all industries will get the short end of the stick compared to someone who can be on site and interact with others naturally. Younger generations and socially awkward folks may cry that they work just as well remotely but everyone staying in their own silo is how projects and businesses fail even if everyone is doing their part.

Also, keep in mind that the EN branch had ENreco last month and that Justice is/was in Japan for their 3D recording. I don't disagree that the talents who're willing to travel and/or live in Japan have an advantage over those who don't, but the EN side still has stuff going on.

EN is not as important to the company as JP obviously, and the spread-out nature of them makes it harder to make shit happen, but YouTube recommendations are not the place I'd look for evidence of this.

Not a single EN participated in those events beside fuwamoco joining for 1 day. And you asked why you dont get recommendations
These are not official events, just something miko/botan held out on a whim.
The thing about JP only events is maaaaybe you get a viewers boost participating in them. But the average jp watcher will just drop you when you stream in english again. Unless you can get other EN to play with you, using english, the best options is just ignore these random jp events and not play.

sure if you are double dipping amd willing to stream full japanese like meloco/fuwamoco, you want to be in as many as possible. But not everyone does this. And you will burn yourself out trying to be included in everything. See how often kanata/marine participate in these events (hint: they don't)

And even fuwamoco isnt the biggest HoloEN. No idea where this view of you have to participate in these to grow as an EN comes from.

If you have a membership, Immerbased is going to check out the movie of the game (I'm being facetious).

Speaking Japanese and participating in JP collabs like this will certainly never hurt you but I agree that it isn't some cheat code to free popularity.

*Shiori raids into Axel*
Axel: 'Bitch ass ho. Oh hey Shiori, thanks for the raid. This seems like a game Shiori would like, since it's got a bunch of dudes fucking dudes. Personally I don't like dudes getting dicked down by other dudes.'

Edit: Axel has been non-stop wild since the raid, probably worth listening to the VoD if it survives. :marinepraying:

1- The MK Tournament was for the ones that didnt get to buy a Switch 2 trough the lottery (wich is for people living in Japan only) since in the rest of the world you can just buy it if there its stock
2-At the start of the MC event that Botan was doing she said it was open to everyone
3- Fuwamoco aint even the most popular of their branch and you could discuss they arent even the best of their gen
4- I wouldnt say that about Holo EN because they are about to announce a concert even after everything that happened this year but maybe its true for ID
