As side point, but Yagoo has a legitimately impressive CV. He's not just some random nobody Game Dev that made it big. He's a talented engineer that also built up quite a good career skillset to be able to manage a fairly large company. He's an actual, massive success story. But, hilarious enough, he's Mister "Sou Desuyo Ne", Best Girl, occasional Merch Model and weird company mascot. Of course, I think Suisei might be the actual top ranking official in the company.
Eh? Pretty much everything he's made fucking sucks though, VR games nobody played, Apps nobody fucking used, imo he's just a quirky techbro that stumbled ass backwards into success by making a chuuba to support their shitty VR app (which doesn't even exist anymore).

Please do clock me if I’m late to sharing this but apparently today Cover also held a press release that talked about the recent string of graduations.

Article in question [not in english] (Archive)

Good to hear, saw the article and hadn't read it yet so thanks. I think Cover is trying hard to get everyone on the same page. Their hiring push articles show they want people who enjoy the challenge of the job AND the vtubers the work is for. I suspect Cover having artists for a meeting at the studio was to try and lay out some groundwork for how to communicate better what the social and technical difficulties are for asset production. Now trying to explain the difference between being creative and being a business is the soft focus of the tea parties while using the feedback to loosen the reins.

My theory is that Cover and the talents have built up enough reputation with companies, like Capcom who almost killed them, which is letting everyone relax a bit. All these events feel like that but it could also be the maturity of talents to be able to take on more complex events. Holo being a box is helpful but it's disproportionately harmful when someone messes up as they are on a bit of a pedestal. Same with smaller companies or smaller talent pools like VSPO. The other side is I really doubt nipple boy fucked things up for someone out of his orbit, let's say Debi, or even his friends like Kuzuha. The last major accidents I can remember are Matsuris GTA sex roleplay and Roboco dropping her camera. On brand really.

Keeping Matsuri from not sexually harassing the new hires is probably a full time job there.

Maybe this is what Yagoo will talk about at Standford

BTW where are these listed again?
Edit - found them - https://cover-corp.com/en/ir/library
Also has the official q4 slideshow - https://contents.xj-storage.jp/xcon...4987/a8b5/2781f127f519/20250513153043984s.pdf
I'm just looking through the documents now fully myself but I was curious as to this quote on the ESG-related Activities slide:
Activities involving defamation
Activities during the one-year period from January 2024 to December 2024
Number of cases in which actions were taken against defamatory acts
toward affiliated talents: 252
  • Legal Action Against Infringements of Rights on Online Forums and
    Social Media
  • Legal Action Against Harassment Directed at Overseas Talents
  • Legal Action Against Aggregator Websites
I know they've been filing lawsuits in Japan against individuals and sites but the point Legal Action Against Harassment Directed at Overseas Talents is interesting. Have we seen anything publicized in the West of them taking legal action against anyone outside of Japan? I can't recall anything unless I'm forgetting something.

Rratting, but it suggests to me the next EN generation is in Japan right now and Ame was brought over to help acclimate them into the company.
What if the Ame helps recruit the new members rrat was true all along, and that's part of why they wanted to keep her as an affiliate?
I have a feeling there'll be X thing that has a (feat. Ame) as a regular occurrence 1-2 times per year. She clearly likes being Ame, but she also doesn't want to be full time Ame.
I'd be content with that. I wouldn't even want to ask for more. I enjoy watching her when she streams on her other channel too.
I'm going to guess she's read at least the Zahn trilogy.
It's possible. She is a huge fan of western pop culture in general.

Often, a big part of success in business is just being in the right place at the right time. The other part is realizing that you're in the right place at the right time and knowing how to take advantage of the fact.
Keeping Matsuri from not sexually harassing the new hires is probably a full time job there.
She can probably be distracted by offering her food or loli doujinshi.

En applications probably include "Willing to actually deal with it when she forces you to sing it"

Probably not, if a westoid anti got a cease and desist from Cover their first instinct would be to squeal like a tortured piglet and tell everyone who would listen about it, then double down emboldened by whatever scraps of attention they'd gotten out of it.

My guess is the foreign ones were mostly not in English areas, unless it was counterfeit goods. Any DMCA takedowns on YT for copyright violations would always qualify under that definition.

Does this feel really melancholic to anyone else? Perhaps it's just me. I didn't really even watch Mumei but this little snippet kind of caught me off guard. Sorry for your loss hoomans.

I sort of get that feeling too, but I'm also happy to hear her singing again.

I teared up a lil'. And the first lines reminded me of IRyS's teacher fetish.
