In a context of both her streaming and musical carrier it looked like Cover pulled her out of basement to flash her face for a couple of big promotions and then she crawled back.
And I agree those projects were big and great, but I think that, if she just streamed and released songs it would had a bigger impact. After all IP is good only as long as its alive and Gura's IP barely could've been called alive for the last two years. Which is why I maintain my opinion, that her carrier crashed and burned in Holo, for whatever reason (that reason most likely being brainworms).
Given that EN lost 4 people, which is a whole generation, pretty much, I really think it will be the case. And they need to throw some bone to EN fans, who I bet, after this whole shitshow will need some time to calm down and become optimistic once more.
Now, in a context of her graduation this statement seems really weird, though, one can make case, she never meant she will participate in, whatever will make it "the best year". Which won't be the best, because, she and Ame are not part of it.
Three graduations back to back squeezed my mind and heart dry and with Gura barely being present for the last two years, it felt more like a final dot, a whispered statement, rather than a sudden end or a retirement in a blaze of glory. Which is a pity - she should had a graduation worthy of a Queen, with 300k+ watching, 10 millions subscribers and illustrious carrier behind her, instead of this...whimper.
Its another example of inner demons being stronger and I always will pity the fact that she sabotaged her carrier, having this golden ticket. It is hard to me to understand, but that's life and different people.
I am sure she will return and we will get AmeSame in some form, but without others, memes and connections to a larger group, it won't be the same.
Overall, this was a curious swim while it had lasted and little shark will forever have her teeth etched in my memory and heart.
