I hope I'm not late on this, but Koe has given some good thoughts on the recent graduations at Hololive:

Though I don't agree about Gura giving it her all for 5 years, the last two years she's hasn't.

A commenter has a good point:
"Wow, a sensible, rational take on the situation! So refreshing, glad to see someone else think like me. Koe actually hit on something I missed - the investors. With how long Gura has been absent, it's obvious (at least to me) that Cover was okay with talents taking their time to get into the right head space... but then add investors to the picture who see the world's most popular talent not streaming, it doesn't take much imagination to see them hassling manager to get the talent back out there and making more money. I believe Cover still has the best intentions for the talent, but pressure from above can be heavy, daunting, and misguided. Yagoo certainly seems concerned about it, with his "tea time" meetings any of the talents can have with him.Ultimately, Gura's graduation while sad, was inevitable. It also seems her sudden rocket to fame didn't do her any good mentally, so here's to wishing her the best in what ever she does in the future."

Wasn't there just a discussion in the past that conclude with the belief that the investors don't actually have much power compared to Yagoo?

I think once you have a public company, investors do in fact have a strong influence (especially in the Japanese culture), and even Yagoo may have to bend on occasion. It's not just him anymore. It's probably a good thing he ditched HoloCN back then otherwise if there were investors they'd probably still be around (and Coco and Haachama might have gotten the boot then).

There's no evidence whatsoever but I belieb so it must be true.

One wonders what kind of explanation people would come up with if Cover bought back all of their shares and went private again. Probably some phantom manager like takeshi single-handedly ruining everything or something.

It would be all Omega's fault.

They only have the power to make retarded suggestions and/or requests. Then Yagoo says, "LOL, no." (politely, of course, because he is Japanese) and ignores their ideas.

Omega controlling Cover even though he's been fired for years... sounds legit.
Didn't you hear? Apparently Emma was Omega all along, according to the scuttlebutt.

That works for a while until they decide to deinvest. Once you pay the danegeld...

Everyone seems to be forgetting about Dmitri Jap. I blame him for everything, I have done no research but I'm pretty sure the timing fits for when people would have started making their decisions to leave.

I think it's the fact that it's not COVID anymore, nobody is trapped at home, including the vtubers. Koe mentioned in the video that there were people who were probably thinking about graduating but weren't sure if they could make it on their own, but they now see that they can (Coco/Kson) and they are feeling braver about leaving.

Which is smart of Cover to go for the music route, because then you'd have talents like Kanade who are going to stay in Hololive because that is their best and only chance in the music business.

Sucks for the talents who just wish to stay as Vtubers, but the company is growing to greater heights

what is this deinvest term? Can you explain or did you just make that the fuck up.

Riku submitted to investor because likely he took on debt/private investment to buy stock (similar to how Elon Musk bought twitter), people who comes from money usually do everything to avoid spending their own.
All things point to so far is that Yagoo did not, he fully own his stock and he doesn't give a shit about investors, this happened time and time again, he even openly ridicule them to score brownie points regarding merches.
HOLOLIVE DOESN'T EVEN PAY DIVIDENDS. Investor come knocking for danegeld and he told them to fuck off

Coco happened years ago, noone is joining VShojo. People followed Dooby footsteps, she opened the floodgate, Kson has nothing to do with it

Stop taking other people's opinion and use your brain for 2 second.

Sorry, oh Grammar King: DISinvest.

"to sell your shares in a company or to stop taking part in a business activity"

Two (spell it out) secondS...if you want to get all "spelly". Dooby opened up the whole "affiliate" idea, though only she has taken this option. No one knew if Kson was going to make it on her own, but people are seeing she did - with or without VShojo.

So literally selling their shares.
Oh no black rock will sell their 0.1% share worth $300 to samsung, whatever will yagoo do. He must bow down to them at all cost so they dont sell their extremely minority share.
Share exchanges of that scale happen everyday whether something happened to hololive or not.

We are telling you the shares they own are so small it doesnt matter if they sell them, "deinvest" or "disinvest" their 0.1% shares

When a company goes public, they dont have to issue 100% share, they only usually issue 50%, some goes as low as 20%.
Mate.... start reading, anyway on that list, tanigo, fukuda, suda, itto they are all hololive employees. Together they owns 40% of the available 50% public stock on the market. Yagoo dont have to answer to noone, unless they all started selling.

See that BNY Mellon Investment Management Japan Ltd.? They own 357,600 equity which equivalent to... 42,000 usd. Literally the price of a car. If they were to sell that car, someone would buy it, that's it.

You used this "deinvest" term as if they can throw away the stock to the garbage can. No they can not do that. Best they can do is sell them to someone else.

Okay, dude, Yagoo ain't gonna screw you, you don't have to lick arse that hard.

The real point is that Hololive 2025 is not like Hololive 2020. The direction is changing, and the older vtubers are probably feeling a bit more sure about striking on their own, if they want. I expect to see more graduations even on the JP side. Some have been there for 7 years after all.

If you said all of this without "investors" shit I wouldnt have corrected you because I'd agree. Yagoo fucked up and you should be blaming him.

People are used to blaming "investors" and "company going public" when a company goes to shit. But truthfully, it is always the CEO being incompetent. That CEO ruins a company, and then got promoted to being the CEO of another company. That's the real reason why companies turn shit.
Most of the existing CEOs are dogshit businessmen who kept failing upwards and get shuffled around, not ultra intelligent galaxy brained people being held back by le evil investorz. Elon Musk being prime example A.

Or some other case it's a tech guy with 0 business acumen and the company was fine in the early days when they are small, and when it gets really big and 5-6 years into the business, the company started trotting toward their death cycle and the tech guy found out shit is way beyond his capability. The timing coincide with going public but not a correllation. Zuckerberg didnt focus on meta and metaverse because black rock told him to. The guy chose to do it himself.

Kronii was very clingy at the end of her last stream and I don't know if it was a bit, she also had some issues with her family (probably some argument) and she left their family group chat in protest.
