"I am writing to bring to your attention a personal issue that has developed due to the online announcements made on a white page with the header 'announcement of graduation' and a body of text referring to a virtual YouTuber resigning, graduating or retiring. I have developed a trauma towards these types of announcements and they have caused me great anxiety every time I see a white page with text."vt Anon
Well, fuck. Like F U C K. This is sad. Mumei must be feeling awful watching all her friends getting concerts, covers, dancing classes and not being available to participate in the same way because her fucking coughing won't go away. Plus Cover's pressure with their internal changes.
I know there's lots of "lol autistic!" talk about vtubers, but Kronii is absolutely a full spectrum warrior. Watching her trying to process this situation is something.
This isn't as much of a shock, but still hurts because Mumei was just a darling and was just so sweet.
We all knew about her absolutely fucked health (her incurable throat issue) and it did not take a genius why she prioritised completing her education. Every idiot and their mum is gonna go 'zomygod, management EVUUUUL!' when it's simply 'My throat and health are fucked, Cover wants to do more idol stuff that is going tobnegatively effect my health so I'm retiring' is most likely.
To lighten the mood, here is Nene's Mama covering 'Just the Two of Us' (putting it mildly), with Nene superimposed on real life photos, for whatever reason:
Here's what Kronii said on her stream, it's not a lot but it's something (I hope I didn't get anything wrong.)
-She doesn't like to open up about people leaving, she doesn't like it because it may inconvenience the ones leaving.
The first few times people left she felt sad because she thought it would be the end of their interactions, it may come across like she doesn't care but she feels just as sad as everyone else.
-Both her and Mumei would hang out IRL but would forget (or didn't want) to talk about it
-She feels too shy to tell Mumei she's fun to hang out with
-She said we should be happy for Mumei, she has been through a lot with her throat, she would cough a lot when they were hanging out.
-Kronii cried a lot when they first dropped the announcement, she's not the type of person to open up, but she wanted to today.
Feels like she's held together with duck tape and superglue...but at least it help her feel better.
Man I just woke up and my day is now suddenly worse.
I loved Mumei the second she debuted. She helped with the mindnumbingly boring days at work and was just genuinely a joy to watch all the time. Her graduating hits me a little harder than the others before, honestly.

Kronii is a consummate professional, but, yeah, she was having to work to keep it together.
Mumei's cough never being well addressed bothers me, but if she has been doing a graduate program in Canada, it makes sense. You can't get specialist care up there and they probably won't have a damn clue what to do with it anyway. (From a couple of rounds with family members, I don't think the ENT field qualifies as medicine anymore. It's actually negative in too many cases.)

I was just getting into watching Sana when the graduation hit. It's rough. Hololive has gotten a lot of us through some severe doldrums in life as second monitor content.
