Yeah, really odd timing to make an announcement today. If she is leaving, then why not announce it in the middle of next week? If she was being fired effective immediately they wouldn't let her do a stream at all. The only thing that makes sense to me is that something has come up that (possibly in addition to leaving) prevents her from being part of the fes as planned, whether it's menhera or a death in the family or whatever, so that it has to be announced now.

I think the main issue is nimi/dooby/mint/doki is already 90% of that thread. If you not going to post them there that thread is going to be dead dead. Noone here actually watch /lig/ beside ex-holo/ex-niji.

One of those moments where Hololive should have trampled on their talents and delayed it. But for some reason they really want to preserve their "integrity" image even if it comes at a PR cost.

I can see the reasoning behind announcing it before Fes honestly, it'll give her performances a bit more emotional impact for her fans. A one-last-hurrah kind of thing, rather than blindsiding people while they're coming down from the high.

Are you kidding? Small indies are the second largest target of the site after Phase. They are easiest to groom.
