I'll start with my two fav examples


I've seen someone on twitter call KIRA the Ke$ha of vocaloid songs and this is the perfect example: an angsty hymn for party girls that never danced on an actual dancefloor, it's an easy song but Kiara's version just feels much more "right" than the original vocaloid


Lots of times vocaloid songs with heavy human themes work perfectly with an artificial voice, in this case I don't know if the original tuning is simply too plain for my taste but while i like the song I've always found it lacking. Machita Chima's version on the opposite is simply flawless. with the way she bends the words and fills them with the real weight of desperation she takes the song and just owns it

Probably not the best performance of all time but I regularly rewatch the Bring It On / Rettou Joutou version from Mel's 2021 birthday live feat. Kanata. This performance just clicks with me, good singing and great dance moves. For me this song is tied to this 3D live and the original Rin/Len version just sounds wrong.

The stream time is really easy to explain though: She had wanted to do long streams and stream on both youtube and twitch but she was running herself into the grounds and was asked to cut back by PC/Doctor. She then further had to cut back because she was still having fatigue and additional PC related work to do. So she has mostly dropped the twitch streams as (Okay this is just what I think) they were not as compatible with her growth from shorts, lower CCV and not as pleasant of a chat. And lets face it, she probably sees people posting "Aaaw fuck I hate twitch" all the time. She continues have trouble keeping a sleep schedual and so I think that's why she's been ending stream earlier but she is know to number Fag and I'd guess the time after Pippa (and 50 other Vtubers) starts up is less useful to her numbers. She also flat out said she's taking Fridays off because less people watch her stream on Friday. Obviously we can make jokes about date night and alternate explanations for a ruined sleep schedual.... but we don't have to .

It's impossible to really know her history or current situation but here's something she said recently.

I had mentioned it recently, but she talked candidly during the end of her time as Shirara that the Canada trips where she stayed for months on end really fucked with her relationship at the time. Long distance sucks. And it definitely seemed like either it was still super strained, or they had broken up at the time. But who knows? Don't turn into Spooki you two.

Interesting question coming from you, Rie's biggest fan and potential doppelganger.

If I'm being honest, she's mid to me. My free time is very valuable and there is a very short list of people I'll go out of my way to watch. Rie isn't one of them. I will however, put on a VOD in the background if she did something I was interested in. I don't think she's bad but she just doesn't do anything to grab my attention over the thousands of other potential vtubers to watch.

So I wouldn't exactly say I like her, but I don't necessary dislike her either. There are certainly much worse options out there.
