They announced the finalists before the merch shilling - everyone there in the studio (including Kson) made it to the final round. I think they will take part in some promotional events before they announce the winners at a later date.

edit: apparently all of the finalists will have NPC roles as hostesses in Yakuza 7 Gaiden (presumably for the cabaret club minigame?) but the grand prize is for a recurring role in Yakuza 8 (plus 1 million yen)

Not really, maybe it's because I like listening to gossip, but as far as I know she's always had the stigma of her being a cheater for the longest time. From worst to best I feel like general opinion has tended to be something along the lines of Froot<Melody<Veibae<Silvervale<Nyanners<Ironmouse. With Silvervale being in the middle due to relatively low profile.

I'd personally drop veibae to 2nd worst because she's just a bitch in general, plus I've never let that shit she spewed about hololive go. Nyanners below silvervale because pink cat bad and raise mel to 2nd best purely because I don't care that she's an e-hooker and think she's adorable.

For me it's Froot<Vei<Nyanners<Silvervale<Zen solo content (you missed Zen)<Melody<Mouse

But before this child abuse shit Froot was relatively high because I tend to separate roommate actions from main (above Vei and Nyan to be exact both being equally worst for the Nux backstabbing)

Just a random thought due to an argument I I had on NijiID Discord. Aia said not to post clips of the karaoke and I said "Why would it be improper to clip? LOL" and said that it was odd to say. Explanations included "because she said so", to "this 3k live viewed stream is private info", to the only good reason which is that clips have caused copyright issues for Nij livers. If the last one is the reason than fine but anything else is not a good reason imo. (and people genuinely concluded that her reasoning doesn't matter, she said it so it's morally wrong to disobey)

This kind of stuff and the arguments I had with people defending Anycolor striking Khyo make me appreciate this place a lot ngl. It doesn't just assert that the liver's feelings are always reasonable and that one's behavior must curtail to what the liver always wants. It seems to encourage individual thought where the Discords do the opposite and treat the wishes of the liver as axiomatically correct.

It almost definitely is down to copyright and permissions issues, which is why the streamers themselves will take a stance of either explicitly asking people not to republish clips, or just tagging the stream as unarchived and turning a blind eye to the reuploads.

Acquiring permission to stream a game can be annoying for the JP corpos, but music licensing is an even bigger clusterfuck since record labels have won cases in court over this kind of thing before (vs. Napster, YouTube etc.), so they can be as obnoxious and difficult as they want to be. Speculating here, but I would assume the songs have been cleared on the karaoke apps for one-time broadcasts but not on-demand playback, grandfathered in from radio permissions vs. record distribution (labels want their songs played on the radio because it promotes sales; they don't want you sharing bootleg albums as they directly compete with their sales).

There's obviously nuance here as it's a derivative performance etc., but when you're in a situation where you're not going by the book it's best to practice discretion and not pick unnecessary fights. If someone makes a fuss, just quietly pack up your counterfeit DVDs and leave, then reopen your stall further down the road once the coast is clear.

I'd genuinely find it difficult to pick a favourite from VShojo EN, it's such a drastically different culture that I somewhat aggressively don't care for, they're only interesting when they're causing drama. I respect Ironmouse but that's mostly because she's the one who seems to just keep her shit together and do her thing while everything else is constantly blowing up around her; even then her streams aren't really for me.

It's pretty clear that one big reason for Froot was a childish mother who gave excess support, Froot was a coddle kid

I'm sure part of it is because Froot's sisterbrother is trans. Female-to-Male I believe. Her mother gives off some pretty big narc vibes too. I'm assuming a schizo household where one daughter went trans and the other internalised their crazy mom's behaviour.

I don't think general opinion has ever been that bad against Melody. Sure, she's the chaturbate streamer, but she's never been offensive and her Twitch streams are markedly different and surprisingly wholesome at times.
Same goes for Froot prior to her recent spate of yabs. Sure people here and on /vt/ knew about the cheating but most just didn't really care and it wasn't really talked about. She was just kind of there, playing apex all day. It took being thrown in the face of normies for that to really take off.
Silvervale was originally one of the biggest talents who would make Vshojo (basically founded it alongside Mouse and Melody) but she's plateaued hard since. Just kind of there doing her coombait-but-not-really, GFE-but-not-really, lets play content. This is her first real major controversy aside from the article throwing shade about Hololive, which was because a journalist had a journalist moment and twisted/put words in her mouth to make them significantly worse than what she actually said.
Vei and Nyanners are where the real controversy is. Vei did a terrible job of spitting in the face of corps, indies and just the vtuber culture in general when she joined Vshojo and she's basically the reason they have the bad rep they do. Nyanners was popular in general but had a large anti contingent due to her long history on the net.

Before this all kicked off I'd have ranked them like this in terms of general opinion: Veibei << Nyan < Froot < Zen < Melody <= Silver < Haruka < Mouse.
Now funnily enough Vei hasn't yabbed in a while and Froot is doing a better job of being Vei lately than she is.
