Since we had talk a while ago about tranny voices, Rio's voice complex (and men who can voice women and sing like women), Zeta, Gura and Fauna's voices, and speech analysis of habits which Pippa and IRyS have - thread survey time. What do you look for in a Vtuber's voice or other vocal characteristics? Edit: What do you consider good or an instant sell? Conversely, do you have vocal dealbreakers that can't be overcome with the Vtuber's stream presence?

I tend to like deeper more mature voices in general but I've noticed that for vtubers I like soft, calm voices more. There are no voices that I would consider an instant sell but my favorite to listen to so far has to be Fauna. It's not so much her voice but the weird stoccato or rhythm that she speaks with, like she's trying to rock you to sleep with her words. Erina and Juniper also have very nice voices, they fit more with the deeper voiced women that I'm usually into. Ina is nice too.

Voices that turn me off right away are grown women trying to sound like high pitched anime girls or straight up toddlers, like Kiara or Shondo. Enna and Pippa are special cases for me though. I think for Enna it's because her personality fits the voice so well and because she is mostly dead pan rather than excitable and screaming. Pippa isn't quite as annoying as others who do the anime girl voice and she is actually very pleasant to listen to when she is reading.

Basically I agree with pretty much everyone who posted their opinion so far.

I enjoy this Pippa more then the toxic gamer version. I also gained an unwanted wrinkle on my brain courtesy of "Big Lick".

I think he does just the amount of editing, just enough to accentuate the jokes without distracting from them.

I'm not entirely sure what exact type of voice I like, my two favorites are definitely Gura and Altare, who aren't very similar. As for voices I don't like, I can't do the really shrill ones like Ame, Kiara, and (most of the time) Bae. I like Kiara a lot in collabs but can't usually watch her solo for very long because of the voice.

In all seriousness, as long as they don't make too many ear-piercing shrieks I can tolerate most voices as long as what they say is sufficiently funny and entertaining

I would say I prefer mature-sounding voices, doubly so if it's clear that the actor is raising their pitch to sound more "kawaii". Wosemi is my current oshi and she's high pitched, but it's obvious that's her natural voice. Conversely, I'd prefer Kiara use the pitch her roommate has in the vids I've seen here and on the Farms, and Pochi's normal deep voice is WAY better than the squeaky voice she used to use.

Pippa was talking about it on stream a while ago and how some of the reasons given in that post are also why some vtubers won't collab with her (because she's kinda radioactive).

I felt bad for the bunny for a moment there.

As pippa gets more eyes on her I'm worried that she might get forced to apologize for essentially being herself. We already had that one retard on Twitter try to cancel her and she does do and say a lot of things that would make libtards loose their shit.
I fear that she might one day have to choose between being herself and appealing to a broader audience, especially if Fishman's crackdowns increase.

I absolutely cannot stand women who do the fake anime girl voice. Every time I hear it it activates the sleeper agent in my brain that makes me want to shoot up a Wal-Mart in minecraft.
Loli voices make me want to vomit and take a shower.
In general I like people with very unique voices or vocal quirks like kson or Subaru.
