The most important question to ask when determining if someone is a vtuber is to ask "Do you identify as a vtuber?" most of these animated avatar channels will say "No"

That's the problem with vtubing, it refers to both a medium of content creation and an industry/community. Is any content creator who uses an animated avatar to represent themselves TECHNICALLY a vtuber? Yes. Would anyone who isn't trying to be a smartass call them that? No.

It's certainly possible this is a smokescreen, but I don't think anything Mel or Calli said contradicts Ina's explanation for what she's doing right now:

Originally I did want to come back around this time since I was feeling better, but my family wanted to take a longer end of the year vacation since it's been years since we were last able to...! I also thought it might be a good chance to be able to visit family (and friends) while travelling with them too so I will be away for a little while longer......but will be returning soon after the holidays!!!
