As strange is it seemed having a whole new branch I think that allowed the members to do things unencumbered with the Hololive brand. The Devis girls have been reaching out like before Holo was a "box". Raden in particular has had a lot of collabs: manga artists, Niji guy, Rakugo, and more. Plus indies KirakoCh, Kakapo, Tango and it would be cool if she hung out with Rocket chan.

Devis seem to be easier for senpai to interact with casually, especially Sora. Feels rare for her to have a JP collab like this and it makes me happy as she loves talking with people.

At first I thought they were just trying to appeal to female viewers with a new branch but Devis is branching out beyond the typical Holo streaming meta of playing games/zatsus. It's not ground breaking as other Holos have done similar things, and Cover has pushed everything from voice acting lessons to lo-fi streams with A-chan, but it's more consistent with Devis. In general Hololive does seem to be branching out but feels like Devis is a bit more free to different things without as much backlash as some other's have had, Lap is a notable example although Riona is also a recent one but I think her Idol roots really prompted antis to sperg over the smallest "yab".

I can only imagine how hard it is for everyone to enjoy streaming in Hololive as it's a ballance between doing new/personally interesting things and having enough people participating in talent events like Mio's farming or Azki's fishing event.

Just my musing on Hololive in particular as I know many other corpo vtubers have expanded the vtuber sphere in fun ways. Suo saving a theme park is one of my favorites. These fun events are why I got into vtubing so they bring great joy. Speaking of joy, Watame and Raden are joy
