I think the likely scenario is that Filian’s representatives (maybe it’s the production company, maybe it’s her manager) reached out to Hololive. The request reaches a low level Japanese worker (full-time of course, this isn’t Niji) who has 0 knowledge of Vtubing or streaming outside of JP. Instead of translating and looking things up, he sends a canned response that their lawyers made to politely reject foreign requests due to the “differences and complexities of Japanese law”.

Meanwhile the Hololive talents ask their managers to participate only to get a response that they don’t have perms and Filian never reached out.

I understand why it took the one JP girl who went to France without speaking a lick of French or English and who probably communicated with the indigenous population entirely through pointing at mundane objects and yelling "NAISU!" to actually get some JPs to visit Kiara in Austria, but I'm unclear about what this changes for the others.

Now that there's a precedent, the others want to do it. That's how Japanese tourism works. They'll want to go to the exact same museums and eat at the exact same restaurants, mind.
About 10 years ago a Japanese travel writer stayed in a B&B in Wiltshire and wrote an article about how quintessentially English it was, so now every year dozens of Japanese people go to stay in that B&B. Eimi's pretty damn good, but doesn't seem to have stamina for sustained singing, from what i remember, her throat tires easily.
Runie is amazing and despite the entire Lumi EP releasing this year i'd still say AposTASTY is the best Phase original of 2024.
But yeah Lisa confirmed that she was never in any negotiations with Phase, so who even cares at this point.

It'll be curious to see the ratio between idolshit and regular streaming in the three invaders, because outside of Clara, Kaleido doesn't seem too interested in the music side of the industry, neither do Saya/Muyu/Hina(when they're around, lol).

Muyu loves singing. Half her streams are karaoke's or turn into karaoke.
