Cover's statement regarding it
I am just guessing because I dont really know how that works, but could this also have to do something with Inas Visa issues?
Since the talents too, are contractors and not really employees

retard is actually encouraging a studying (whatever the fuck) to frivolously sue people because they said a mean thing.

Guess Niji avoids this by not paying their artists, lmao.

Niji avoids it by having in house riggers. According to the Cover statement, it was mostly L2D and 3D. Tbh, thats a pretty big L for hololive. I mean, the government has to make a new law to protect artists from stuff like that. Cover was probably not the only reason but it sure was a big one. I can already hear nijisisters feasting after hearing these news lol. Hololive L collection thread when??

Frequent cover contractor and clipper (he just recently worked on the F1 thing with HoloEN, he also used to do official NijiEN stuff in 2021-2022) tries to clarifiy:

Officially it shouldn't, but I've heard rumours that immigration gets stricter with companies that have been in legal trouble. They wouldn't invent a problem where none exists, but they might be less willing to cut the company some slack on a minor issue.

It's a huge general problem in Japan, big companies bullying their suppliers into doing extra work for free because they can intimidate them with their size. That's what the law is about, I don't think it's focused on artists in particular so much as it happens to apply to them too.

I'd rather hear from the actual contractors themselves than hear the conclusions of a soulless government bureaucracy that's incentivized to find anything that could potentially be a violation. And the fact that "revision" isn't defined is a huge oversight. I'm sure they'll end up defining it thanks to the power of soulless bureaucracy.

There shouldn't be any reason for them to be late with paying their contractors though.

According to Cover's statement, it's about late payments for the artists who made revisions to the models (2D and 3D). Cover already paid them and acknowledged their shortcoming and will ensure that it doesn't happen in the future.

Some dramafags will push this as a Hololive L but seeing as how popular Holo is in the west I doubt if they'll go ALL IN making Hololive as the bad guy in this one.

Cover's statement regarding it

Christ I hate the managerial class. Gatta have every single thing of humanity engineered and managed.

Also, they "received recommendations and guidance" from the "Commission" based on a law. Modern government the world over is one big satire.

Just charge more money if the client is unreasonable or don't work with them anymore, why do you need a government specifically making rules for this when it's already an established rule in the community? You ran out of revisions or asked after a deadline - it's extra money out of your pocket. And artists have a blacklist of clients not to work with already, if Cover isn't in it and the same people continue working with them then the pay must justify the fuckery. Also, if the guy replying is to be believed, it's a classic case of japanese autism, where you have to talk through 5 different people instead of directly communicating with an artist, no shit you get a reply after a deadline and have to do constant revisions, it's a broken telephone at it's worst. And I doubt this "recommendation and guidance" was "can't you just let the person talk to an artist you contract directly", probably the opposite

In my entire career, I can count on my fingers the number of times stakeholders have not significantly modified project scope and requirements after work has started. In fact I find the probability of changes increases the closer we get to go-live 😂

Definite HoloL, but one that is easy to come back from with payment process reviews and clear terms to protect contractors from "just one small change(entire redraw) here please".
