Also, how the frick is complaining about a merch run 'deplatforming'? You stupid twats, merch is not a platform.
With how much and how easy they pump out merch nowadays, UWUmarket is very much a platform.
How does it feel to watch this happen to someone else?
I'm offended, but i will survive.

I get your distinction is "this company has entered into an actual commerce-related relationship with the person which makes the relationship more serious".

The distinction is bunk because literally every social media company has monetization options, which I guarantee she's a part of. Affiliate on Twitch, probably not enough subs to justify partner on youtube, engagement on Twitter, etc. All of which require contracts, even if their contracts are so automated as to look to the outside world as just another ToS.

And if I had the power, time and money to drag every single one of those contracts into a court of law and systematically dismantle them with precedent that prevented them from ever being enacted again, I would do so without hesitation. But that sadly isn't the world we live in.

Just to make my own position clear; I never try entering into any kind of contract - written or informal - with anyone who isn't 100% okay with how I conduct myself. If it's to do with TVA, I make sure they know what the website is, what it does, and the kind of things people post there. I get their written acknowledgement that they know the kind of place and community they're doing work for, and whether or not they want to be publicly credited for it. It would probably be much easier if I didn't do that, and I will certainly lose opportunities by being so transparent, but I don't feel comfortable engaging with anyone without them being fully aware of what reciprocating means.

Now sure, this is the internet, and people are very retarded, disturbingly often to the point you can spell out everything about your content in eyewatering detail and they'll still misunderstand it, but at least I'll have a clean conscience.

She's coming off a 24 hour marathon stream, why can't she take a break?

I was wondering how she pulled off not having to have separate streams for different games. Turns out she didn't lmao

Austistic holo management strikes again.

Tbf it was avoidable. You have kaela who has been doing this for years and she made separate streams and thumbnails to please holo's austistic managers every time. It's not like 24 hours variety stream was unprecedented to a holo.

If you want to play things with those ideals you're gonna end up in a mass grave. Like I said these cunts made things into a battleground and the only way for things to go back to normal is when both sides understand that engaging in this type of bullshit isn't productive. One side has been getting away with it for far too long so its only fair the other side starts doing it too.
Man, I don't care about this gay shit drama. Here, have a cute hag dancing:

I love Botan's model.

I curse the maker every day for putting botan in my way and made me unable to understand what she says :pikameefuck:

Part of me wonders if she knew this was always gonna happen and just didn't feel like splitting it up and figured she would deal with it after the fact. Ask for forgiveness and all that. Another part of me thinks she tried and thought she got permissions to do it this way but management autism took it back or something.

Curious, as I see some archetypes for Corpo/Hololive vtubers
1) Get shut down and shut down - Gura, Ame, Shion and Vesper. Probably the most likely type to graduate
2) Game the system - Flayon, Polka - Polka's show, Period cramp trend
Idk about flayon but polka is menhera/depression prime in hololive. She has been shutdown multiple time and her member streams are literally "asmr crying" every week. The difference is everytime it happens, she just work harder, and recently decided to press go live every morning and become a reverse alarm clock for most vtuber ("oh shit ohapol is live, it's 6 am now I should sleep")

I think Lando is not providing the full picture here. I agree reason #1 is disagreement and disappointment with management. But reason #2 is just not wanting to work, a.k.a being lazy.

Male vtubers dont go on hiatus to go to the gym or do kickboxing/community service. They hole themselves playing MMO and refuse contact with the outside world. Most male vtuber probs grinded the shit out of WoW/PoE/Diablo etc. Games that they don't want to stream because terrible numbers or no permissions

Female vtubers probs be watching anime/k-drama maybe?

It is very easy to let yourself go and blame someone else (management) for your being lazy. Polka gets her projects turned down? Vented to her members then press go live every morning. Calli struggles with project (literally known, her fire and ice song with kiara took two years because management autism) -> make even more songs.

Personally, I'd solve this by simply having every company give a very explicit set of public guidelines for its partners, so there is no ambiguity and no doubt involved as to whether or not something is worth reporting. Those guidelines will always exist in some form anyway, even if only as a vague set of moral principles in the CEO's head, so having them be clear and obvious is simply a public service. Unless you want to be Twitch or Youtube and purposefully obfuscate your CoC to keep your partners in constant fear of judgement. In a perfect world, no company would ever partner with someone whose conduct they disapproved of, but in the absence of a magical PR department that gives a damn and does its due diligence, public outcry is an acceptable substitute.
See, if an unambiguous agreement's been drawn up and hands have been shaken then dropping them after a misdemeanour is fair; you cannot reliably do business with someone who does not keep their word. The problem is that service terminations made in response to social media backlash are never decided by moral convictions or practical considerations, they are blindly following the instructions of whichever side is the loudest while pointing to a vaguely-written term to justify it. A merch distribution company receiving a hundred complaints about "racism" or "transphobia" will react in exactly the same way as if they received a hundred complaints about genuinely unethical behaviour; it's an Achilles heel that allows a dedicated mob to inorganically overturn an otherwise organic relationship between a business and its customers.

To put it this way, if any of the streamers I financially support acted like Gumpai, I would not be financially supporting them much longer. That's the market working organically - people see something they don't like, they talk about it, then potential customers and business partners make informed decisions based on that information. What's not organic is sending a barrage of tweets and emails at the distribution company so they drop her to make the nuisance in their inbox go away.

I realise this is a microscopic issue all things considered, whether or not this letter-writing campaign succeeds or not won't matter much in the grand scheme of things, I'm not gonna end cancel culture by telling people to stop complaining at an anime plush company. But it is part of a larger problem I despise, so it would go against my principles cheering on someone I dislike losing a source of income, when the same behaviour and the same defences for it can and do get used by bad-faith activists against people who have done nothing wrong.

For people who like noticing things: Prisma on Melizande's team is Kou Mariya from V4Mirai, this will be her first time streaming on that account. I think there are a few other V4M girls who've created alt accounts since their company became stricter about ASMR (although in this case she's using it to play Apex, go figure)

Maybe she's waiting to shift her ASMR stuff over until after her "debut"? Or perhaps Prisma will be for FPS games?

Raora did the same for Chattini Day too, with the last one happened just days before Bae's marathon.
