Bae was definitely putting on a Boston/NYC-ish accent during her early months, just as she was deliberately pitching up her voice. Like you say, it's only because she had VA training that she was able to keep it up beyond her debut stream, and even then some Aussie-isms were slipping through the cracks since day 1.

A bit pedantic, the tech is there for some years, more advanced VRC setups already used translation to 3D environments back in 21/22.
But I agree on the sentiment, COVER corpo bullshit sets them back too often, it's still insane that 3view/4view indies got shit better done than the AR company. It's been years since Kizuna last live and HoloFes still havent topped it.

Besides personally like, the 3D stuff is cool sure. Its also been around for decades, it was just unwieldy (still is) for home use. But even then the boom was more centered on Nijisanji and their 2D approach. If it didn't we would likely have more 3D competition. Simpler however often works better for how its used. Ame use to do 3D zatsu streams which sure, neat but IMO didn't look as good as the 2D version and seemed also a waste of effort I dunno
