, maybe create clips to submit to phase weekly or share under talent tags on X/twitter, let them see what they'd get (seriously, I think sharing edited clips on the twitter tags would be a quick way to get noticed directly by talents/management if your quality is good/consistent). Just make sure you have DM/contact information available for business/commissions, nice and visible in case you actually want follow-up.

In my case I moved from Premiere to DVR after college because a freelancer can't afford Adobe subscriptions. To force myself to learn the ins and outs of Fusion I decided to do some shitpost clips and they got decent views, around 1k each per month. It helps that I'm close to my oshi and she spread word around as well, but without the footage and jokes properly built I'd never get spots. After that, both related and unrelated parties called me in and the rest is history.
Pro tip 1: undercut your first 5 jobs just to have a portfolio. You can base yourself around VGEN prices and undercut up to 40%.
Pro tip 2: Do not "take challenges" with other people's money. Either you can do it or you can't. That is for well established creators who are jaded and seek adventure. Burning bridges at the start is much worse than burning bridges from the top.
Pro tip 3: Have a public persona. Draw or comm a drawing for a PNG tuber or simply your OC. That will help people reconize you besides your editing style and ease convos when someone needs to mention you.
The saddest part about that first line is anyone saying it unironically like that clearly has never been the smartest person in a room and is projecting their desire that it be true. The actual experience is very different, which is probably why fiction writers always screw it up. Everyone knows 60 seconds after you start talking and half of the group will want you to think for them, which is why "keeping your mouth shut" is a primary aspect to being the smartest person in a random group.
