On a more serious note I get this, and it's why I haven't been active in any big servers in... a long fucking time. Discord servers (and other invite-based IRCs) create this odd dynamic where it's not quite public but not quite private while the other users are not quite friends but not quite random acquaintances, so it's very easy to forget yourself and slip into more casual chatter. It's really no surprise so much edrama leads back to Discord chats, since they're basically just a constant supply of potential screencaps to be cropped out of context or twisted as ammunition when they resurface years later.

I also just prefer forums in general since there's less pressure to respond to things right away. It's far too easy to waste more time than you should on meaningless small talk in livechats.

Strangely people respond to and call each other out a lot more than in any of the two TVA discords I'm on, despite it being totally possible and easier to just sticker the other person and ignore their callout rather than defend oneself. I have said it multiple times but Discord seems to make everyone 100% more laid back and aloof, though I do recognize that a lot of discord drama ends up developing in DMs or in splinter-cords where all of the disgruntled people go to bitch like women.
