Seeing the banter about parasocials and meltdowns, something been in my mind lately: would you be into this hobby if you were mentally stable and/or if your life were going on stable rails?
I don't mean to out yourselves but we don't need to lie, the autistic sampling in vtubing is astronomically high, from both parties.

For me, I would probably be less invested, but would always be up in my downtime if schedules match.

I don't sacrifice sleep for my oshi (though I appreciate quite a few of her streams occurring at a good time for me), nor for special events. I do not jeopardize my work for her. I do not spend inordinate amounts of money on her. I am merely entertained and appreciate her quirks and sense of humor.

I am neurotypical and a perfectly sane person.

Which is good, because my oshi will surely appreciate my sensible decisionmaking and responsible attitude when we marry and consummate marriage. It'll be her first time, you see.

You forget simple mathametics. I have atleast four debuffs. Two negatives make a positive. That's atleast 2 positives making me twice as straight, and normal than any other fag. That's 200% straight. Now if we factor in the suicide factor of 41% that subtracts from the 200%. Thats 159% making me 1.59* more straight than the average retard.

Common mistake. Debuffs don't stack -a * -a = a, but rather -a + (-a) = -2a

Yes, my life is mostly stable and I don't use vtubing to temper my issues or some shit like that. My interest in it mostly revolves around meta stuff like industry happenings, actually being "in love" with a vtuber and watching them religiously is not my thing, while I do enjoy nice art, fan projects, funny clips and heartfelt moments I don't really care for streams. I think liking streams either requires you to be doing something else while watching, which I am unable to do since I can't multitask or it requires a high degree of parasocialism, which I do not possess.

Just listening to a girl have opinions I agree with every 5-10 minutes or do something I like isn't enough to keep me tuned in, the only streams I watch fully are collabs for the most part and they have to be funny at that.

My life wasn't in the best place when I started watching, but I'm doing great nowadays, so probably not? I'm not the biggest fan of streams, tbh. I'd rather watch a vod, but I can see the appeal. I have thought for a while that the deeper you get into vtubing, the worse your life/sanity probably is for the longest time. That includes up to actually becoming a vtuber. Not always... but usually.
