It's just CICO. Sure, they're probably not eating like 2000 calories over the amount they burn like Americans but it doesn't matter if they're continuously at a surplus. Eating 200 calories over long enough will result in weight gain, it just won't happen as fast. That's actually a tricky one because they won't believe they're overeating and they'll slowly get more fat without noticing. Then one day they'll wake up to go take a piss and see their belly from the side in the mirror.
I always miss the fun stuff.
