I've made my opinions known that The Megathread is fucking stupid and isn't how a forum should operate, but this half-in half-out approach of "Well we can keep The Megathread around but we're going to create threads on corpos and talents" has actually created the Worst of Both Worlds, where you don't actually get the benefit of Megathread busting where people are drawn to the Thread List as the default first page visit, but you also inconvenience the people who want to use a Megathread-like UX where they just visit the one thread, but now it's 5 instead of 1.

Burn the ships. Thread per talent is the bare minimum of how this shit should go.

For the record, I used to think way to go would be thread-per-talent but separated into sections per major corpo, then a section for LIGs, and one for 2-views, but not anymore. I'm on board with one big Vtuber Thread List page.

If anything The Megathread now should only exist to figure out who is going to OP the talent threads.

That in turn led to the eventual thread generating consistent updates and becoming a recognised 'hub' of Pippa-related conversations that encouraged new Pippa fans to join the forum because the ongoing conversations caught their interest.

There is no organic demand for similar threads. Other talents do not have this same level of interest across the current existing userbase; there is no one vtuber overwhelming the general thread to the point where non-fans are sick of them, like there was with Pippa back in the day. The majority of smaller vtubers' threads would amount to one or two guys talking to themselves and constantly doubleposting to bump the thread when something new happens, which is awkward and depressing in itself, but also offers nothing to entice fans from outside the forum to sign up and participate.

Kirsche's pretty well-liked around here and the subjects she covers on stream attract the kinds of people who would probably appreciate a more loosely-moderated platform like TVA, but even her thread moves at a snail's pace.

The push to force people out of the general thread is a nice extra cherry on the shit sundae after telling everyone it would remain to be used as usual by those who please. Now it's not even "Can be used for people who prefer it." You need to slather several various topics that prevent it from fitting elsewhere or generic bullshit post, otherwise you'll get forced out. Who tf asked for this, why are we "doing things how they should be done" instead of just, doing things that there is DEMAND FOR or are desperately needed (like the pippa thread)? This place is far far far less populated than vt. There is like what? 20 actual posters? vt has thousands (literally 2nd fastest board in 4chan behind /pol/.) and in /vt/ individual talents thread dies all the fucking time.

you are basing an idea off something that may work for thousands of posters (even though it has proven to not work by real life example)

for example, one of the threads right now on /vt/ is "Rica/Mel, Choco, Aki, Roboco, Matsuri & Ririka". There is very little in common between these 6. They organically merged into 1 threads because people who talks in there also like the other talents. If they were split individually, noone would be there. There is literally real life example that individual threads does not work in a place 10000 times more populated than here.

Also what you said is not how "a forum operates". The average webforum is designed to hold at most 10 threads in 1 page. You are not describing a forum, you are describing how "a discord operates". If you have a threadmaking fetish. Do it to the groomcord, not here.

If I have to dissect his thinking. He likely compared us to a mega forum of thousands of user, which would have its own categories and subcategories like anime, pc gaming, where each categories has their own set of users that will never ever talk to each other. And if there is something they want to talk about, they will create new thread, and old threads will be left for dead

He goes back to our forum and thinks why is it not the same. Why is this lawless land not divided, why is everyone staying in the same place.

My final thoughts on this matter, if you want this forum to grow out of vtubing drama, then create a non-vtubing category, make a PC gaming/anime/porn/racism CATEGORY that is easily accessible from the home page, not a gaming/offtopic thread where it's hard to find, those are where you can get new users, people who have less interest in engaging in talk that already exists within the forum.

If you really want to copy those forums, then do it right, those forums don't have individual vtuber pages, and neither should we. Mods don't create threads in those forum, the user create threads in those forums and so should we. If you want growth, let it grow organically, not with an iron hand of fist. People don't enjoy getting fisted.

I know the gaming thread exists, I have talked in there before, but if you ask me how to open it without using the search button. I have 0 fucking clue where it is. I'd say there is enough interest for a gaming category to exists.
