While I understand her frustration, I don't think complaining about it publicly like this is the best thing to do. The business proposition likely just doesn't make enough sense to justify it. Personally, I would absolutely buy an ID figure (not a Nendroid, I don't like them) in an instant but launching a figure line that has to rely on a significant number of Western or Japanese sales over Indonesian sales seems like it would be doomed in the long run. Moona and Kobo are realistically the only talents that I could see being somewhat viable for figures.

Agreed, but launching one for only moona or kobo would then make the bleating 10 times worse as the rest of the ID fanbases would endlessly seethe because they can't throw money at the company. It would certifiably make it about "your oshi ain't popular enough" and that hits people in just the worst spot.

It does strike me there has to be some type of figure that sells well enough in Indonesia that they could make work. Maybe contract with an Indonesian company that knows the market well enough to sell something.

Now, in the "well, this is odd", so I was watching a review about the Netflix adaptation of Kakegurui that's called "Bet". Which is absolutely brilliant from marketing, brilliant I tell you. Anyway, the first season ends not on a Rickroll, but on a citypop Japanese version of a Rickroll. It just so happens to be the version made by Hololive's resent Demon of Sound.



Obviously, it's under her normal name, but, somehow, I think she's the first Cover member to make it into an American TV/Movie release? Aside from already being a nutty review, it was a weird worlds overlapping there for a second.

They showed a gray version of it, this was before she announced her graduation. We were all hoping that her being an "affiliate" would mean that the figma will still be released, but as more time passes with 0 updates, it's becoming more unlikely that it will ever be released.

What these twitter kids don't understand is that figure companies order shit from China's factory, which make things in molds. And the mold cost most of the product
E.g. Say figurine A cost $200000 in mold + ($20 in plastic and $10 in shipping)/figurine. [all made up numbers, ignoring shit like design cost for simplicity sake]
if you know you are able to sell 1000 of them. You can price each figurine at $234 and earns a $4 profit per figurines. If you know you are going to only able to sell 100, each figurine will need to be sold at $2300 for you to break even. And noone is dumb enough to buy a $2300 kaela figurine, good luck finding 100 of them.
The factories in China don't care how many you can actually make and sell, they just know their mold cost time and money to make. If you can't pay the money then fuck off they don't lack customers.

figurine companies should know the exact amount of figures getting shipped to ID from JP and deemed it's not worth it. I'm talking about the anime/horse girl/touhou figures and not just Holo.
However, Holo should have managers on the ground in ID looking for small shops/artisans in ID and commissioning them to produce a small amount by handcraft rather than factory made in china. But that also comes with a host of problems like quality control, warehouse, distrubution, tummy hurts, etc.
If Holo can't do it, maybe the girls need to do it. While that is asking too much of them & not their jobs at all, if they really really want to get the ball rolling they need to go do it themselves.
