RE: New Vegas
Caesar had the most fun route to play

FIGHT ME MODERN AU

Hell yeah

(I still remember RE4 being the yearly game, Oblivion bros rise up)

:polkasticks:
of the 3 "major" routes. Yeah the Legion is the most fun to play through that being said fucking independent all the way.

both NCR and Ceasar cannot hold the Mojave to put it simple Logistics is against them.

That being said even the Courier's Independence is a temporary fix assuming they actually stick around to keep the factions playing nice with each other how long till they just up and die? will you rule as house did a vegetable powering a screen how sustainable is that about as sustainable as the "peace" House maintained even with the securitrons

Honestly the diggers coming to destroy the Mojave is a blessing it gives all involved a reason to stop infighting and work together uneasy alliances shift the balance of power and a new status quo that allows a united Mojave could rise from said conflict and be....essentially the only functioning world power the fallout world currently has.

with access to the Gun Runner Factories the the Boomer's Artillery the even the NCR's united Front would feel like a baby frolicking (in theory anyway i doubt the mojave would ever have a reason to expand outward even if it had the capability)

If New Vegas spends literally the entire game and every single quest bashing my skull in with its theme of letting go of the past, I let go of the past and go with myself. Yeah, I'm aware that the devs said that Yes Man is an afterthought ending they added in case you fucked yourself out of any other route, but what are my choices? Californians (True Demon Route), LARPers (Law Route), the supreme jew who intends to fuck off into space and forget about the poors (True Neutral Route). All Old World approaches to a world that doesn't work like that anymore. House is probably the closest to actually having something going, but the NCR and the Legion never had a chance. So time to try something new and possibly retarded (if you're doing a 1INT Yes Man run).

Anyways, time to not talk about New Vegas for another year.

The Tunnelers are not a threat with the power of the Big MT in assuredly good karma independent ending.

Anthem had a 7 "year" development cycle, but it was in such chaos that once the upper EA execs had to get involved and force Bioware to complete a game it became really an 18 month cycle. Actually a solid game for 18 months of production, frankly. I mention that because "Marathon" looks like about the same amount of actual work, where they ported over Destiny 2 and put a thin veneer of bright paint on what is functionally an extraction game mode for Destiny 2. It looks like a game that was completely rebooted 4 years ago without the staff to have vision for how to both establish within a niche and radically broaden the appeal of it.

It'll sell well enough to be Not-Concord 2.0, but it'll then die in 3 months.
Agreed. I'd even make the comparison that it's another Battlefield 2042. Taking the brand into the most trend chasing and by the numbers route possible for greed. Also, taking a pretty lore heavy franchise about philosophy and existence and turning into the most generic lore dumps that have no plot integration into the gameplay has to be most egregious thing Bungie has ever done. Even Destiny 1 and Destiny 2 had a main campaign even if it wasn't stellar.

House ending (good karma) is the best ending for the Mojave.

Switch 2 pre-orders are live, or slowly going out at the very least!

The websites are falling apart at the seams, orders are being cancelled left and right due to selling out within the first few minutes despite having people wait 10-20 minutes just to place an order, if people are able to order at all, and it turns out things went live two minutes before showtime.

Scalpers win yet again, gamers! I'm gonna McFucking kill myself.

No longer killing myself, got a pre-order in for the Switch 2 + Mario Kart World bundle, the scalper menace must be vanquished.

Did you register for one through My Nintendo?

Absolutely, within ~30 minutes of the direct, so I'm eligible! It's my backup plan if [ONLINE RETAILER] cancels my order.

French JRPG Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 is reviewing very well, made by former Ubisoft developers and has a cast that includes Charlie Cox and Andy Serkis. It's nice to see brand new IPs from new studios succeed, paving the way for others to do the same.

Charlie Cox gets to star in a good thing this year?

Reminder that you'll likely never see remakes of Morrowind or New Vegas unless it is being done by Microsoft forces outside of Bethesda. The current crop of Bethesda designers hate the praise and attention that Morrowind gets to the point that they basically annihilated Vvardenfell in the lore of Skyrim and quite a few members of the design and production team (particularly the important ones) have seethed at how much better New Vegas was received by the gaming community since it released than the BGS Fallouts.

A lot of Morrowind was also Ken Rowlston's design, both system and writing (appropriate because he was lead designer), and Todd was mostly managing production (as game director, which used to mean "The producer/manager at the top"). Despite being Ken being lead designer on Oblivion, Todd called most of the shots for Oblivion's design which was a major contributing factor to Rowlston's decision to move to Big Huge after Oblivion's release. Because, for Oblivion, Todd was still game director but he decided that it now meant director in the same way it would mean for a movie. (These changers were not entirely bad because a lot of the clunkiness in Morrowind was Ken as he had a long background with Chaosium and West End Games in the 80s and 90s which lead to the implementation of TTRPG behavior in Morrowind, like the "diceroll" on attack)

Bethesda's corporate culture is also super vindictive and, if you leave for any reason, they'll memory hole your contributions. Even if you leave on very good conditions and for good reason, such as your wife going to medical school on the other side of the country, if you try to return at a later point in time, because your wife had a bunch of places she could begin her residency and one of them was the DC area, you'll get told "You're lucky that we're even dignifying your inquiry with a non-negotiable rejection." Happened to a guy I knew there. Another guy I knew there had come to BGS/Zenimax from normal DC government contracting corporate jobs and described 2006-2008 era Bethesda as "the coldest, most unfriendly and antagonistic corporate environment I've ever experienced."

So yeah. Todd has full claim to Oblivion, he doesn't for Morrowind or FNV, therefore Morrowind as both a game and a setting will almost certainly never be revisited and FNV is highly unlikely to get a remake. Their only hope is someone at MS making the push so Morrowind and FNV fans can, at best, expect a lead life preserver.

Watching some streams and early reviews, I can probably fix most of the design problems and it took me about 10 minutes of thought. Which kind of points to the sad state of much of the industry.

Fleek is awesome.

"Ubisoft escapees" could be an industry chunk of the industry in a few years. It's like a 40+ hour JRPG and supposed to be really good, and not just in that Game Journo way. But you apparently want to avoid spoilers.

The Cult of The Todd is still strong. That place has always sounded terrible to work at, but not in the normal way that game studios can be.

As of a few minutes ago, Breath of Fire IV has been preserved on GOG using their Dreamlist program - $9.99:

While Capcom might never make a non-gacha Breath of Fire again, if this does well, it could spell success for other Dreamlist entries, such as Freelancer! (copium)

So I played a bit of the new Big Head event mode in Marvel Rivals. They made a bunch of attacks able to headshot like Reed's melee attacks and Squirrel Girl's acorns. However they fucked up immensely with Squirrel Girl. She has a squirrel on her head, tippy-toe, that also counts as part of her head hitbox. They increased its size as well and it looks right when you select her and in the post-game screen. However you get in game and Tippy's head is bigger than Squirrel Girl's and now you instant die because EVERYTHING will hit you and headshot you because you have two immensely large head hitboxes, making her unplayable.

Image from Reddit, you can't see like a third of the screen because of this shit.

I'm mostly skipping my mode myself not interesting enough to keep me interested.
