"I don't trust the talent so trust me instead"
I honestly trust nobody except the talents at this point, they are the only people who know what goes on in the company.
Not saying to trust me as im just some retard rrating but its fucking dumb to trust talents when time and time again talents have lied about the state of things. Im amazed how you are part of this forum and you dont seem to ever question the talents when time and time again they have proven to either not fully know what is happening or they try to calm things down to calm people down despite things not being as fine as they project.
I do find it quite fascinating how you tend to be very candid/provocative on twitter, just throwing out baseless speculation like candy and replying to reactionary takes from people, but then suddenly become a lot meeker, more reasonable and measured when on here. You do realize anything you do under the same account name WILL find its way back here?
Yeah no shit. Its almost as if someone typing on their phone from their work desk on an app where you can barely even read 1 line above what you are trying to type is not as well thought out as something you type when you are sitting on a computer. Notice how tweets are full of grammatical errors and half-cut sentences.
It's different though. Other people wrote the character's lines, most of his characterisation is from movies which were massive group endeavours, and other people play the character (e.g. at Disney theme parks). Whereas vtuber characters are generally extremely personal creations and this is part of their appeal.
(I don't think companies reasonably can or should give away IP for free, but I do favour business models that put some ownership in the hands of the creators - I think there are better ways to fund a model and a debut than having a company take permanent 100% IP ownership)
It's not very comparable because every movie with Jack Sparrow in it will always have a giant "Johny Depp as Jack Sparrow" in every promotional materials released and in the movie itself. Vtubing and Jack Sparrow is different in that way.
Yes there are people who do not want their vtuber account to be linked with their IRL account like Mint. But the argument is that the person themself should be making that choice not the corporation
Pretty sure that this was getting discussed or talked about in JP. Even if the corporation owns the character, that once that character leaves, the person who played it should be able to use or reference their time as that character.
Even Sakana talked about it being retarded not to have control over IP as you lose any and all control over the talent.
The small difference is, no one can prohibit him taking credit for playing Jack Sparrow. NDA is where real power disbalance is, even though this clause likely won't stand in court. Thankfully, at least jap legal system is in a process of fixing it.
Until then people have to deal with it. They signed on knowing full well the restrictions.
Yes it would have to be on main and she's been very adamant that the two are separate people and just several hours ago had to remind people of this because she's always been very into kayfabe
Agreed. I don't see any issues if people keep their shit separate.
Who hurt you so bad you can't give people even a little trust. The talents are witness to the best and worst of the Corpo I'm inclined to trust them unless they give me reason to doubt there are a million minor factors that go into determining if they might be willing to lie but in general people don't lie without reason it's just how people are.
Talents lie all the time. How many times have you seen that get posted here talking about things being great and fun and suddenly they hit you with a graduation 1 month down the line because the corporation has been harassing and abusing them? Its not about "who hurt you" and more about "this shit has happened so much that it should be the norm" unless proven otherwise.
I've been using twitter a lot more lately (disgusting I know) and there's something I've been seeing that's got me wondering does being a Vtweeter actually work? Like has anyone actually managed to transfer their twitter followers to stream watchers succefully because I've seen several vtubers with almost or more than 100k followers on Twitter yet struggle to get more than 500 views on their vods
Depends as its two different platforms and more often than not there is little overlap. Hell even with people that have over 100k subscribers on Youtube and do streaming on Twitch the numbers don't overlap. Case in point purple Keemstar. His videos get a ton of traction on youtube but his streams on Twitch get low 3-view numbers.
Yeah they're just running out the clock on his and Twisty's contracts.
These are the debut dates for those 2 waves. I would assume that the contract was signed a few months prior. I would also assume that Niji has learned from their PR mistakes and they would not fire Twisty randomly when they had a new wave coming out as the backlash woulld kill any hype.
Huh I wonder why practically removing all traces of you made the clip more popular
Its one of those gimmick account that reposts shit from other people. They also get a ton of views from bots.
Watching the stream right now, and holy shit, the entire situation is just so fucked.
I'm just glad that it seems like she's accepted what happened, and it seems like she's slowly getting over it now.
I really hope that this whole situation doesn't fuck with her mental state too much long term, considering all of her mental illness.
I know, TMI, but I can kind of relate how she feels, since I know what it's like when a close family member commits suicide.
Came in late. Hope she sues the everliving shit out of the mental institute for dropping the ball.
