Indies do add up, though. We have ex-Holo and ex-Niji talents making great viewing numbers, there are popular non-corpo talents, and all those two and three-views add up when there's so many of them. Not including any of this if you're looking at overall vtubing viewing habits doesn't make sense.

Yeah but this is 4000+ indies vs 80 holos, that chart doesn't really visualize how big the disparity is.
"Indies" is basically an "other" category, which includes everything from very popular people to thousands of nobodies grinding to less than 10 people, which can make it very misleading.

Misleading how? They've made a list of the 4,000 most popular vtubers and split them into viewer watch time by corporate affiliation (or lack thereof), and it turns out that a lot of viewers are watching non-corpo vtubers. If there's anything misleading about the data, I'd say the that the long tail of two-view vtubers not included in the chart data would skew watch time even higher towards indies, but I think asking to add viewing data for that would be unreasonable.

Not bad for someone who swore to never touch anything vtuber related again after making a mashup of Mori and Kim Possible

I know I have shat on Asmongold multiple times, but I will admit it when he brings good opinion
He started with acknowledging that he knows very little about Hololive/Gawr Gura and he will not comment on the inner working of it.
Then he spent another 10 minutes arguing with his own chat and banning users for saying "vtuber lulw" "who omegalul" "noone cares"
His main opinion is that vtubers should own their identity and having the company owns the IP create an unbalanced relationship where the vtubers get none of the says. And that dynamic can gets extremely exploitative (nijisanji or most of the small corpos that ever existed and died)
I think his opinion is fine, he admitted to not knowing anything about hololive and the only contact with vtubers corpo he has is with Nijisanji & VShojo.

On the other hand we have someone that's part of the community, who is supposed to know things better than he does

- He's peddling investor rrats, without knowing what exactly he's talking about
- He claimed that Hololive runs out of money and needed investor money so they went public. When YAGOO already said that what actually happened was that the private investors they had wanted to sell their shares, that's why they went public.
- Bro is in a middle of a vacation but decided to chime in because it's too juicy a topic.
- Claims that there is something huges that changed and there will be more graduation
- 7 minutes in, he basically added a 2nd video into it saying everything he said in the first 7 minutes was wrong. Then don't fucking upload that segment you dumb fuck.
- His viewers just saw the investors rrat segment and turn off the video and says "I'm glad you are agreeing with me". One of them even went into the Hololive thread in here. Which prompted me watching it now. I was full on going to shit on him, expecting a rraty video of the holo thread, but he himself admitted he was wrong during the video. So I'm going to let him go. But once again, nothing would have been lost if he didn't include that first section.

Are they though? Yes, they had the Squirmimi and Lilou termination fiasco earlier in the year, but that's just 2 members and it really didn't make nearly as big of a splash as a single Hololive termination, just by virtue of the sizes of the audiences involved alone. And now they've even managed to legally silence Mimi, like her message this morning shows (and to be clear this isn't excusing globie, fuck them for what they've put those 2 through).
Whereas for the other agencies they control, the V4Mirai and idol demonetisation from last year has just been completely fixed and they didn't even lose a single talent over the issue. Plus if you listen to Yena's latest stream, apparently things are getting fixed behind the scenes, at least when it comes to idol's management. The only problem there is Abi/Susie resurfacing to talk shit about Brave's mismanagement of V4Mirai.
Overall it could be much worse for them, hell I'd even call 2025 a net positive. The big losers of 2025 in EN vtubing as of now are either PixelLink which just completely disappeared, or Hololive for having 3 talents graduate including the face of EN vtubing herself. And I say this as a fan of both agencies.

Looks like 910inc (WACTOR) has their first skinwalking Vtuber. Saohime Yue who retired in 2022 got a new person using the avatar.

Her introductory video, comments are obviously disabled. Looks like on X there are angry ES QRT on WACTOR's account announcing this a couple days ago.

Another of their talents Umiboshi Clara is graduating.

Her last date will be on 30 April so WACTOR can open audition for skinwalking soon I guess.
