Hearing her talk about this makes me feel more irritated then anything. She's been largely inactive for three years and nothing changed. If she was just going to leave, she should have done it a long time ago.

Sorry for being negative now, but I just don't get why she'd stick around for so long if nothing was going to change.
She was asked to stream at least once a month, she couldn't stand such a grueling schedule and left.

Well shit, what else does this thumbnail imply. If it's a graduation notice, it's a bit odd considering she mentioned she wouldn't be leaving so soon in a members stream. Guess we'll have to wait and see.

Myth and Counsul/Promise is getting decimated before our eyes. Wonder if they will combine?

The best part is that there is no "To be continued" like with Ame or Fauna. She's gone, she's gone for good. You might be lucky to see like 2 streams after she graduates and then she'll remember she's lazy and doesn't stream ever again.

DEAD AND BURIED, CHUMBUDS
Well, she's sobered up and has a baby to take care of you know...

:mikothumbsl:

Seriously, I'm not shocked. It's obvious she's found a life outside of streaming now and is ready to live it.

Ina will probably be next. Calli is here at least until here Universal music contract is done, and Kiara is so parasocial she will turn grey before she leaves.

Nobody asked but I feel like as one of the few remaining chumbuds here I should at least talk about how I feel. Note that I didn't bother backreading through the last 20 pages, so if you are annoyed with what I'm about to say already being repeated countless of times, I'm not apologizing.

HUGE WALL OF TEXT INCOMING

I'll just say that I'm dealing with this much better than Ame's announcement, at the very least. I guess having already experience this once, her barely being active for the past years and all the constant doompostings has kinda soften the blow. I know I have in the past called-out and made fun of the doomposters, but it was mostly about them constantly making the same graduation rrat just hoping for it to became true one day. For me personally, I have never truly believed that "Gura is definitely not leaving". I feel like many chumbuds, especially those who do actually watch her when she streams, always had the "sinking" feeling that her time will come one day, they just don't want to talk about it, because not like it will change anything. They rather appreciate the present than trying to predict the future.

Now for the coping part. I actually do hope that she will return to become an indie despite many odds against it. Even having some kind of internet presence but no streams (eg. Mumei and Sana) will still be much better than completely disappearing from the internet. She did say she is "optimistic for the future" so I hope that is actually a sign. I also heard that apparently Fauna said the same thing in her announcement? This will also be one of the few times I hope the doomposters are right, in that her recent PL activities and follows (more relevant IMO) is actually a sign that she is indeed planning for an indie redebut.

Now I would like to address the reaction. Note that I'm not specifically referring to you guys, but the general vtuber community. I didn't bother to look at twitter or reddit, but I'm assuming that there is currently a lot of "management bad, cover bad, agency bad" sentiment going around because of "disagreement with management" reason. I wonder if many of them come from the same bunch of people who have been shitting on Gura for the past few years for her inactivity. If yes, they sure change their tune real quick all because of one single line from the announcement.

Now that both are my oshis are gone, will I still be around? Probably. I actually got into the Hololive rabbit hole before HoloEN was still a thing. Ame and Gura were just the ones who turn me from a casual fan to an actual full-time stream watcher. Now that both of them are gone, I guess I will revert back to a casual fan. It doesn't help that most of the HoloEN members stream while I was either at work or asleep, outside of Raora. And outside of my oshis, I don't find it worth to adapt my daily live for their streams. I guess Raora will most likely be my most watched Holo moving forward. I do like Autofister but it's a shame that they mostly stream while I'm asleep.

That's all I have to say thank you for listening to my rambling.

Edit: One thing I missed out. I was also previously hoping that she would at least wait until the end of the year (around the same timeframe as Ame) before she graduates. That way at least she will still get to perform for the next EN concert, plus the next Myth anniversary wouldn't be so miserable. Oh well...

Edit2: I'm also surprised she didn't bring up anything about health issue at all. I wonder if she never had any chronic illness in the first place. She only alluded to "the outside world being too much" when it comes to her past disappearance(s).

With Myth fading into legend, Council disbanding, Promises literally getting broken, it's definitely possible that Cover might have to start grouping them under a new name again. Can't wait for the 'new' Generation HoloVow to get introduced only to 'disavowed' in the near future.

I spent the better part of 4-5 years watching Gura while I work. Getting a Gura notification for an upcoming stream was like a hit of dopamine for me. It feels sad knowing that after May 1st, there'll be nothing after.

Gen 2 will be playing UNO together in an hour. This will be their first collab together since goddamn December 2022:

I probably said it before, but it's been great to see how much better Subaru is handling Shion's graduation. She's been far more open about her feelings and more willing to hang out with Shion on stream. They've already chatted a few times since the announcement and despite how it's still hurting her, you can tell the duck wants to make whatever memories she can before the last day. It's like night and day versus the depressing silence during Aqua's final weeks. I'm just happy that Subaru learned so much from that experience and used it as a way forward, in spite how miserable it was for her.

I wonder how long did Kiara and the other remaining Myth members knew?
Calli on her stream said they knew for some time. I think within the last 6 months.
She'll do her first stream and there will be 300K people watching and she'd dip instantly.
Or she'll go back to Senzawa and do a drunk stream like the old days.
Kiara is also a very hard worker and even though she is menhera she will keep fighting for what she wants until she gets it.
Who would have thought Kiara was the strongest idol of then all?
:confusedshuba:

Ok now I anti Holo, fuck this company.
Okay, when you start getting the JP branch nervous...
Is this the beginning of the new "Hololive is a black company" arc?

Lol "Who's next, who's next? I DON'T KNOW"

The obvious solution is HoloTemps.

Interestingly enough, Cover knows this, because it has already done this. Sakamata Chloe was an intern, after all. Her graduation is lore compliant.

I would rather not want a ProMyth unless you want Bae and Kiara to go mikeneko levels of menhera from how cursed it ends up.

How long until we see a chumbud say Trump's tariffs did this like that one guy on the farms who developed severe TDS after losing like $400 on the stock market because he truly believed it would GO TO THE MOON with Trump's victory?

It's probably already happened somewhere on Twitter or Reddit, it's just that no one has found it and posted it here yet.

Considering she was harassed, kicked out of her last group, and assaulted. I think she has the most mental fortitude with dealing with both the Idol and streamer life, As ironic as that sounds.

Ain't backreading all that shit, but my two cents:
I think "disagreements with management" is not just boilerplate, i think it's 100% true. If we read "management" as singular noun instead of plural, it all make sense.
Corpo got bigger and now festering with multilayer management structure and endless meetings where nothing gets done in any reasonable time. It'll be bad already with western corpo, imagine how shit it is in jap with their rotten culture of endlessly shifting the blame and point of potential failure around. Nevermind the perms bullshit.
I think cover now got to a point where half of the talents look at endless useless meetings, and ask a question: what the fuck am i even doing here anymore? Money is cool, but what's the point if they, as a face of the company, don't have any sense of agency anymore?
If Yagoo wants to fix that shit, he must give much more agency and decision power to lower management and talents. i.e. middle management don't need to be aware about trivial shit like talent commissioning new stream background as long as it's within their quarterly budget. Or about offcollabs being planned.
