It's in the library, with all the other non-vtubing threads. We also have an anime thread, a music thread, that thread for western movies and television that no one uses, and even a book thread that no one uses because most of us probably don't know how to read.

The point is even old users doesn't know where they are. How will "new user" (the mythical ones that will surely come) find them.

If the active userbase doubles but with the exact same audience (Holo & Phase fans) the VShojo/Niji thread will still remain dead. This changes nothing. Double is too low-balling a number, maybe 200 times the current userbase then you can sustain those threads

They'll remain dead unless we gain a bunch of Nijisisters and whatever the derogatory term for VHoeShow fans is. I'm all for growing the forum userbase, but those aren't the sort of people that I want joining us.

Hmm, it's almost like "video games" is way too broad of a subject to contain in a single thread, even when the thread only has maybe 10 active posters.

I've made my opinions known that The Megathread is fucking stupid and isn't how a forum should operate, but this half-in half-out approach of "Well we can keep The Megathread around but we're going to create threads on corpos and talents" has actually created the Worst of Both Worlds, where you don't actually get the benefit of Megathread busting where people are drawn to the Thread List as the default first page visit, but you also inconvenience the people who want to use a Megathread-like UX where they just visit the one thread, but now it's 5 instead of 1.

Burn the ships. Thread per talent is the bare minimum of how this shit should go.

For the record, I used to think way to go would be thread-per-talent but separated into sections per major corpo, then a section for LIGs, and one for 2-views, but not anymore. I'm on board with one big Vtuber Thread List page.

If anything The Megathread now should only exist to figure out who is going to OP the talent threads.

Right now the VShojo thread is me posting stuff and maybe 10 people reading it on a good day.
If I made a dedicated Kuro thread it would be me posting stuff and at best one other person reading it, and that would be BASADO to migo it.
At that point I might as well post all my thoughts into a txt file which I drag into the recycling bin at regular intervals.

And that's not even going to be a rare case. Most threads would have a single poster who who would fuck off after a while because what is the point.

TVA doesn't operate like most forums because most forums don't operate at all, at least not independently. What difference do you imagine all those threads will make? A new user comes in, sees a litany of dead threads and you expect them to stay?

I don't think the vidya thread needs segregation, every "trendy" game like Rivals and MonHun Wilds has a phase before the posters run out of things to say. As we said already, this should only be considered if the level of activity justifies it, say 50 people.

I can attest from personal experience that visiting a forum for the first time and seeing a lot of threads/subforums with last updates dating multiple days or weeks back definitely gives off an impression that the place's fucking dead or dying.

You don't understand my guy. This one singular exact example that perfectly fits a forced motive is exact proof that the other 30 examples are irrelevant. You're only going to activate his trap card sweaty. Heh. But not everyone can understand the supreme intellect at play here. Can't blame you really.
I appreciate the logic though. It's only total sense that one game which gets a chunk of posts is somehow grounds for needing a thread for the 12 other games mentioned one singular time due to someone saying "Hey this is on sale and I think it's alright, maybe check it out" and not just that one game that's generating the posting.

Even beyond it looking like a thread graveyard, I'm also not sure I would think this places looks comfy when a fairly sizable group of people are getting flat out ignored regarding forum feedback.
