Being a newcomer (reletively speaking) to VTubers, hearing all the behind the scenes stuff, even if it's considered 'common knowledge' is wild.

I had heard rumours of Holo managers being utterly incompetent and the fact that the Austrian Chicken had a hand in rightfully getting almost all of them dropped for decent ones (is this due to an experience Kiara had? Or am I misremembering?) which helped them really shine. To think looking back from now, that there was ever issues.

The main thing is which wave had the bigger issues, Holo EN Gen 1, or the second generation? Both gens had big problems (both behind the scenes and up front) so who had it 'the worst' so to speak?

I think the answers with Irys having suffered a lot as a solo debut would be right.
It just reminded me of the infamous country roads cover, they released it for their 6 month anniversary

And none of the girls like that cover, especially Kiara. Kiara later revealed how the production of this thing was a mess and I think it kinda stands as an example of how early HoloEN management operated.

The song was recorded in October, about 1 month after their debut. The girls were not told what the recording was for, for months they were wondering what was going on with that recording. Each of the girls had record singing the entire song. For members who were weaker on their singing, like Ina and Ame, they never got any feedback or requests to re-record parts.
The lyric distribution was done and decided by management, they basically took 5 full recordings and chopped it up, then put autotune over Ames parts instead of asking her to make a 2nd take.
They were never given any direction on what to sound like during the recording or anything else.
When the release drew close and the Girls were told to promote this song at the end of their 6 month anniversary collab, Kiara protested against the release of the song. She doesn't know how the other girls felt about it (probably similar) but she knew that in those six months since the recording, she improved and also had a much better mic at her disposal. She still thinks the one take she was forced to deliver back then is way below her own standards.
Also, comparing the suffering of Myth and Council is difficult because the management was bad for both of them in different ways. When Myth started, HoloEN staff was a skeleton crew with 2 managers and 1 production lead (OmegaAlpha has been there since the start iirc).
The two managers they started out with were Jenma and J-chad. J-chad managed Kiara and Calli, but really he only cared about Calli. Apparently J-chad was also very much a :pippanumbers:-type, who only pushed Calli and left Kiara in the dust because she was the runt of the Gen.
Remember that Kiara lived in Japan back then, but the apartment she lived in during debut time was absolute trash to stream in (shitty internet she could only stream late JP hours when nobody else in the building was using the net, loud neighbors, echoy) and in her 1st week she already decided to change and go apartment hunting again. During that time and after, until she found and moved into a better place, she streamed from Jenmas private home (not the Cover offices) and Jenma wasn't even Kiaras manager back then.
Well just a few weeks later, Kiara did officially change to Jenma, and then Jenma was the manager for Kiara, Ina, Ame and Gura at the same time. Henma wasn't hired until months later and took Ame off her workload.

So back then, in a way the Myth girls were a bit more free to do what they want because management was completely unprepared for them and dint have any real rules and they had no-one to really look up to and ask for help or to ask simple questions like, "how do I do this and that in OBS?". Ame was the go-to for that, Ina made them a Pre-debut announcement illustration and I am not even sure we would have gotten that if it weren't for her. Calli jumped in a did stingers for and a loading screen for Kiara, as well as the MV for Kiaras first song.
Basically, Myth really had no-one else to rely on except for each other. And that's where I believe the special feel of unity in Myth comes from. They sailed those rough seas together, and experiencing hardship together makes for very close bonds. I am being serious when I say that what they have together is similar to being Army bros or veterans.

With the onboarding of Irys and Council came also a bunch of new management. The girls were not left to their own devices, rather in the contrary they were suddenly drowned in a bunch of new rules.
I would also like to point out that back when Irys debuted Solo, she should have a 1 month long collab ban like any other Gen debuting. It was only thanks to Myth pressuring management that they reduced her collab ban down to 2 weeks. Just imagine, being not allowed to collab for 1 month but also having no Genmates to fall back on. Absolutely retarded.

Project:Hope did feel like Omegas Pet project where he did call all the shots so when he eventually was outed Irys was just kinda dropped and left in limbo.

To leave on a positive note: Jenma has been rewarded for all her hard work in the early days and is now Head of EN management while still being Kiaras personal manager (part-time). Currently, Kiara is helping to on-board PonMa, a new manager. That seems to be a new process, where experienced managers get to take care of new talents while experienced and older talents, who know how things work, help to train the new managers. And that system makes complete sense imo.

Lil correction: lately Kiara confirmed, that jenma isn't her manager anymore and ponma took over.

Also I personally think Kiara really feels the effects of not moving to Japan. Especially now that she has concrete examples with the rat and Bau baus.

Exciting (for me, at least) info post:

Lumi just finished her stream and dropped some vague, but intentionally obvious info. Starting Saturday, Lumi has to go and "learn something" because she's "up for something soon." So, her streams next week might be at a bit of a different time and requires her travel set-up. Whatever it is had her so nervous, she messaged Sakana saying "I can't do this! Please help." She says this will be happening during the first and third weeks of November. She also said "Everyone should be able to watch when the time comes." She said multiple times that whatever it is should be pretty obvious.

She's excited.

So, it's pretty obvious that she's finally getting her official 3D and is almost certainly working on being a part of a 3D concert. I'm happy for her.

Not sure if someone's already posted this here before, I did check on search and doesn't look like it's been mentioned yet but feel free to clock if I missed it.

Relatively new 2-view chuuba channel got pushed by the algo: "Symbiotic Gaming Live" - oldest VOD is just around 4 months old. The catch though is that while the girl "May" is playing, there's another male voice "kayfabing" as an AI voice named "Cybercore" - so it's essentially a 2-person channel where the girl is the chuuba but the guy is also there during the stream and commenting as a sentient AI where they stick to the kayfabe the entire stream of "May" playing the game as part of Cybercore's "testing program" while also conversing with it. The synthwavey-cyberpunk mash-up of the interface and the unique model design caught my eye and the hard kayfabe seems a breath of fresh air in an indie scene that has abandoned it. Guess time will tell if they keep it up.

Also of note is their channel description states their location as being in the UAE:

Time to see a peak EN corpo mog the outdated and bullheaded JP faggotry that uses 5 year old tech

snide and sarcastic dead horse beatings aside. Lumi deserves alot of success after grinding as much as she has done in music and streaming, she is probably one of the more underrated chuubas out there and its a shame that her cyberlive baggage used to close doors to her, but now she probably has a 3D while most of that crew either does just ok or has had a plethora of extra issues of drama

Despite how good she seems to look I wouldn't pay for a membership unless it was a hardcore onlyfans. I'm not paying a sub just to ogle some fully clothed woman I can't understand when I can do that for free elsewhere.
If you like her voice she also generally locks any old ASMR behind membership. It's usually Just Chatting in a low tone with an asmr mic, but very nice to have on in the background while working personally.
Toshimichi Mori, of Blazblue fame, always've shown a clear interest in making an idolm@ster vs. Love Live! but BAMCO never gave him an ear (rightfully so). If corpos step in to pay for the investment I can see his studio working in one Vs/Tag game for vtubers, he's a free agent now (he got invited to leave for being more useless than Pachi, which is a fucking feat if you ask any ASW fan).
Not gonna let this Mori slander stand. Central Fiction is one of the GOAT fighters.
Honestly I hope this doesn't spiral into a Riro Ron type situation, Loki isn't retarded (at least not at this point) but fame from coomers could do shit to a woman
She's done it a few times and none of the outfits are all that risque from what I remember. Wouldn't worry about coomer types too much.
