So I want to change the topic from vagueposting and other usual posting for a minute to make a serious question. Have you guys ever dropped an oshi or stopped watching them not because they graduated but because they changed their streams, content, or just because things that seemed fun or liked about them at first turned annoying after? or because you lost interest?
Beyond Bae and IRyS, who that hasn't happened with, I guess Kiara? I watched her a lot when I first got into VTubers, but kinda drifted away from watching her until I got back into her streams quite a while later. Everyone else I have phases of enjoying watching, though I would not say anyone beyond those three is an oshi.

I usually take longer to warm up to streamers and usually stick around when I do unless they do something supremely retarded (like illegal or straight up mean shit), which is more rare to happen with a hololive VTuber than your average Twitch streamer.

This collab was hilarious. These four were great together. Always nice to see Michiru collabing with the EN side too.

With Kawaii dead I can't help but wonder if EIEN is soon to be next on Bossman's "Month of Ice" list... NotKilia now referencing a "freak bitch alien" likely to be https://x.com/FerumiKaipa and an "edge-lord bird" likely to be https://x.com/NemoNevermore_. in her latest to-be-deleted Tweet:
.
Both have Thrones up for new models/rigs with donations and twitter follows from VAllure's Shibi Cottonbum (who also notably gifted a similar amount to the Ekkomori throne). /vt/ rrats indicate these new accounts are EIEN's Zumi and Navi (respectively), but since the accounts are protected there's only circumstantial evidence at best. At the very least, Kilia herself confirmed she is very close friends with Navi during one of her gunpla building streams and Navi and Zumi were among the first evidence points for Ekko being Kilia so it doesn't seem outside the realm of possibility that Ekko would want to return the favor. Probably worth watching for people with any interest in EIEN (if they even exist).
I guess I need to look into VAllure more, I know next to nothing about them other than that they're the :WHORE!!!: corpo, but with Shibi donating to 3 girls, possibly all connected with Stronny's PL via EIEN, I wonder if a gen 2 is in the cards.

I haven't kept up with EIEN a lot outside of Zumi but it definitely feels like whatever little life they still had died when Kilia left, so I wouldn't be shocked at all if the company collapses before the year closes out

Looking it up, Canadians can only get a working holiday visa once, which I'm sure Ina has used before in her many trips there.
I was born to watch Nene, I will watch her until she graduates or I die in a drug trafficking shootout with ICE.
So until the end of the election season.

For those asking "How could Cover had done it any better" well instead of Ina saying "I really tried and I really fought for it, but due to the company’s internal logistical issues I will not be able to post on social media, stream, etc. until further notice." which I guess is technically true if it's visa issues, she could've said something like "I'm afraid something outside of my control suddenly came up and I have to take a break for about a week effective immediately. Don't worry, it's nothing bad. I'll be back as soon as I can." and not bring up the company at all.

Then no one would speculate if it had anything whatsoever to do with management, or her future at Hololive, or think that some family member died or whatever, and a month from now barely anyone would even remember that she went on a break in the first place.

Which would breed more rrats. Because everyone knew she is in Japan and had a shitload of things lined up that she can't do now AND had to fly home on top of that.

Also "internal logistical issues" doesn't necessarily mean cover fucked up. An issue can very well be that they are just not allowed to work without visa.

But I know we only Interpret things the worst way possible.

Yeah, when the talents are dissatisfied or annoyed by something the agency should tell them to stfu, who cares how they feel it's better to save our PR asses.

I used to have a membership to Gura's channel just because she used to do more karaoke streams and I liked her voice. I used to frequent a jazz bar near my place and justified the monthly cost of the Gura membership as similar but cheaper version of a "cover charge" to the bar for when there are performances on the premises. Dropped the membership when her streaming tapered off. The girl's a funny meme machine with great comedic timing but the idea of a more consistent musical journey and original musical output from her was why I signed up in the first place. When that tapered off, I had no qualms cancelling the membership.

Ame, though - I rode with that membership right 'til the end - even with her streaming tapering off. All the unique 3D stuff she did for herself and EN more than justified that membership even during the long lulls between streams, even when I wasn't even watching live much due to her move to an unholy hour schedule on my time.

that first fuck you came from the soul. I'm starting to believe the rumor that michiru is fluent in english but chooses not to use it for some reason. My only guess is that she wants a jp only fanbase that would follow her if she were to leave phase.

Last clips for the night from me:

Remember this?

How Aqua and Pekora were planning on hiking up a mountain, but couldn't because it rained on the day they planned it?

It's finally happening soon:

And Shion and AZKi will be joining them.

Happy to hear it. Hopefully we'll get some nice stories from it.

I feel pretty comfortable calling this a fairly big Cover L. Ina was clearly pissed off enough about it that she pointed the finger directly at the company in her tweet, and addressed Ina business more directly on her Nagu account than I've ever seen her do. I'm pretty sure that aside from all the collabs she's gonna have to miss, she was working hard on her own 3d live and who knows how many other appearances in other talents' lives - even possibly something like the next hoshimatic project isn't outside the realm of possibility.

Now she has to fly back home on short notice and stay there for however long getting the Visa shit sorted out takes. I wouldn't be surprised if this results in a significant delay to her 3d live, and she'll have to drop out of any 3d live collabs that aren't far enough out to account for what could very well be a multi-week/month delay. All because Cover messed up some part of her Visa documentation or something like that.

Is this on the level of the various Niji nonsense or is Ina in any danger of leaving? Obviously not, but I think calling Cover out on a serious fuck up is warranted.

I like Ina but have never followed her directly or been a takodachi, but I can't ever remember her annoyed-posting like that, especially directing it right at the company so explicitly. And then to make that post with her Nagu account, acknowledging it in a way, is truly unheard of. She's always seemed to very purposefully keep them separated. It was pretty surprising. I'm guessing she was just annoyed and probably even moreso that she couldn't communicate it more directly, but still uncharted territory for her from what I can remember.

I've had multiple like that. I can't remember any that have made me completely stop watching them due to it, but it has caused me to go from watching every stream to just every-so-often and drop my membership (since I'm not watching them much anymore). I guess I tend to jump around, so partially on me. To me they are entertainers and I'm not going to hate-watch one just out of some sense of parasocial dedication. If something annoys me I'll move on for a while and come back later if they pique my interest again.

Off the top of my head:
Zeta - When she debuted she was like a combo of Mumei and Fauna, two of my favs at the time. But when she debuted and for the first couple months she didn't really swear or anything, then suddenly she just started dropping f-bombs pretty frequently among other stuff. I don't really care if vtubers do that or hold it against them, but it's not for me. I don't really talk like that myself and have younger kids around and don't want to have to be constantly be worried about them picking up crap from stuff I'm watching. (I guess they are older now so I'm not as worried, but there are so many choices in HoloEN now that I never really went back to watching her.)
Fauna - Still love her, but she went on an Agent 47 arc that I just frankly got sick of and kind of stopped watching her because it felt like it was every stream, and just never really got back to as regular of a watcher of her as I used to. Couple that with the "bald" stuff that is now constantly beaten to death by saplings as well as a result of that arc, and it annoys me still.
Biboo - Again nothing against her, but as I said I have wife and kids with activities etc, so life is kind of busy, and when she started doing 8+ hr endurance streams and stuff I gave up trying to keep up with her as I don't have that kind of time to dedicate to a single oshi. Still watch her from time to time, but fell off from an every stream watcher pretty quickly when she started doing those I think with Elden Ring and some other games.
Gura - She's my oshi and what got me into vtubing, but for some reason I only seem to watch her once a month or less it seems. Can't figure out why...
Selen/Doki 2x - Hate to say it, but the laugh/giggle filtered me twice. I watched Selen for a week or so back in the day because I was into and playing Apex at the time and of course she was probably the biggest vtuber who played then, at least that I knew of. But I just couldn't take the constant giggles she has. Tried again when all the Niji/Doki drama happened to give her another shot and to keep up with the drama, but after a few weeks again the giggles started grating on me and things settled down anyway.

Haachama used to be my oshi(who along with Mochizuki Himari introduced me to vtubing) until this exact moment and Mori became my oshi.
