Redebuts can lure in both new and lapsed viewers and gives talents a chance to show off how their content has changed and interesting projects they're involved in. If you have a large enough audience, it can also be a good excuse to release new merch. If you have reasons to want to change your model, it's a nice secondary side effect.
If you're just after viewers, though, I'd just cut a rapidfire clip compilation and spend the money on ads instead.

yup, that was the implication - for example, Mori kept a new outfit waiting until the Suicide Squad ED was revealed (unless plans have recently changed), alongside other things, so that the impact of each is maximized in releasing relatively close to each other.
from the start of Nyaru's "Love Love Joe Biden" stream, she went on another rant about how her scuff is not cute, and that her audience shouldn't think it is (despite them saying that it is), and she deleted a prior vod that was essentially her messing up the start of this stream (which the current viewers wanted her to keep up). she says she takes vtubing seriously, not just as a hobby, and she says she puts in the work to make sure her streams are good.
and yet, the numbers aren't there. implied envy of her peers. mostly a rundown of what was in her twitter posts. unfortunately, any potential solutions I could offer her wouldn't be polite, and would require a shift in both attitude towards content creation and the content itself to be less...self-destructive, for lack of a better phrase. of course, there are always ways for instant short-term success by throwing away morality altogether, but I don't think she would do well with the long-term consequences.

I understand where nyaru is coming from. She's too blinded by her passion to see what she really has. I myself have been in her shoes before. She's a good girl, and puts so much work into her stuff, but she's so deep into her passion that she only sees the work she puts in, and how some of her friends pass by her. She thinks "I must be doing something wrong", but the reality is she's not doing anything wrong. Yeah she could be doing stuff better, everyone can however there's nothing wrong with just enjoying yourself, and what you make. I hope nyaru opens her eyes and looks past the passion blindness and see's that she has wonderful friends, people, and fans around her that love her. It's a fate a lot of VTubers get stuck in. I hope for Nyarus sake she doesn't.
I just wanted to point out that Nasa's new outfit stream the other day has about the same amount of views as her debut stream as her most popular streams.
