Yeah, but listening to every story she's told about her life pre-Holo, it sounds like Mumei was just living up to every societal expectation of a pretty, most likely upper middle class white girl, so of course she needed to have a boyfriend to be normal like everyone else around her. She's talked a lot about having to hide or let go of all of her interests and just keep her mouth shut and bottle up all her weirdness until finally joining Holo and seeing she could just be a goddamn maniac. I'm sure the financial stability from it also ended the "find yourself a good man to settle down with" thinking from her family too.
Even with her occasional stress and freak outs, she's much better off now. Her previous life sounded downright miserable for her.
