Billy Mitchell is like the Arcade version of Stalin/Hitler/Mao. Except everyone that has gone after him has lost or died hard and he continues to sell hot sauce while partying around their corpses. I'm honestly not sure he has any fans. The Kings of Kong was basically a glaze of him, so he's got something of a minor name. My actual assumption is he minor notoriety in either the 90s or 2000s got him in with some investor types and he lucked into like cheap Yahoo, Google, Amazon or Apple stock. If he bought 15k of Apple stock when Steve Jobs went back in the mid-90s, that's like 14 mil USD in value right now. It's stuff like that which I think has a lot more to do with it.
