I am kinda confused about this
Where did they meet?
I thought Ina returned from her half year in JP a while back, but maybe not?
So is Ame in Japan again? Probably to work in some project as an affiliate then?

This whole situation is rather strange: allegedly Ame flew to Japan to record number for Kiara's birthday. She returned for a month back home and now she is back to Japan. I am not sure what is going on - perhaps she is part of the big project, which will happen in summer? Or she is there for personal reasons?

Hrad-hard copium, but maybe she lays groundwork for her return in some capacity?

Ame is coming back now Gura is gone would be some funny shit.

I know that she might not come back, But at a slim chance that she does I can see her being involve in some events like New Years or EN events but not on streaming duties.

Nothing really interesting, bigger numbers and that's basically it.
The PowerPoint PDF is actually more interesting this time around as it's different from their typical quarterly earnings reports/releases and more of a primer of what Cover is and their business and revenue growth/paths are for prospective investors reading it who may not know what a fucking vtuber is (on top of their usual quarterly numbers)

It also provides a clear leadership structure for us non-Nips - outlining Yagoo and a bunch of other execs and what they're in charge of and what their CVs are prior to Cover:
Screenshot 2025-05-13 at 12-32-23 20250513153118479s.pdf.png
I think the one name here to keep an eye out on is their Senior VP in charge of "Vtuber Production" - Shigeki Hayashi. @NeneLOVE posted an interview article on him recently where he outlines his department's work on projects/production with the talents:
One of the guys who got promoted earlier last month speaks about stuff, take with a grain of obvious corpo PR but it is interesting.

This guy is essentially the replacement for whoever it was oversaw many of the project cancellations from before, so you can blame him if your oshi gets her shit canned.

Also, and there's some pretty juicy tidbits in the appendix section, where they outline what their risks and counter-measures are:
Screenshot 2025-05-13 at 12-36-43 20250513153118479s.pdf.png
Peep the first one "Dependence on video distribution platforms operated by other companies" where they outline their counter-measures as:
  • "We do not solely rely on livestreaming. We have been able to advance the diversification of our revenue stream opportunities to include merchandising, events, and licensing of intellectual property. Our content creators are also active on multiple video streaming platforms other than YouTube. Furthermore, we are planning for our content creators to eventually stream on our own platform, which is currently under development. Therefore, we do not solely depend on a single platform"

I know the pros/cons of Cover developing a streaming platform of their own has been discussed here in this forum in the past and but I think this is the first, concrete statement from an official source that they are actually seriously looking into it and that it is actually under development.

I'm still skimming through the doc but I'll add/update more if there are any other salient points.

Ina is in Japan. She was talking about ordering breakfast but didn't get to eat before the stream because she dozed off during her stream yesterday. She said she met with Ame a few days ago and they had okonomiyaki together so Ame is probably in Japan.

A bit of perspective from an indie quitting vtubing forever, which means she can share her experience of auditioning for Holo 7 FUCKING TIMES lol, doesn't reveal much since she didn't get past the first round of interviews and the most interesting tidbit is probably this:

Which gives a bit of insight into what the audition process had evolved into after Council. It's interesting they explicitly mention content restrictions. Talents can't really claim they "didn't know" now.

Edit: Also she literally admits in her grad video that joining a corpo was only a means to an end and she wasn't really passionate about it, so I guess the audition staff sniffed that one out somehow.
Seems like a nice person but no matter what her voice just isn't captivating. Kinda of a win story in a roundabout way as her passion is game dev

Someone keeps posting this clip on 4ch, it's old news by this point and obviously it's better to just move on rather than dwell on the past, so they are probably just trying to make people seethe...
...And it's working.

Imagine that work pipeline. She had to scrap all plans and come up with a completely new 3d live; new theme, new setlist, new perms, new backing tracks, new 3d sets, new guests (probably), and she can't delay it because even that would take too long to get....1 model from her 1 million wish. All that extra time. effort, and stress because they can't make a 3d model on time. Basically, "It is easier for you, a single person, to start from square one and do absolutely everything from scratch, than it is for us, an entire company to make a 3d model."
(and no, I am not implying that all of those things were completed and waiting for the model, I am mainly complaining about it to point out the timeline. Many girls have talked about how much goes into planning and producing their own 3d lives, months and months and months and months of brainstorming and work before the final product is released, and Cover can't make a 1 million wish alternate 3d model in that same timeframe.)
:Mumei-REE::Mumei-REE::Mumei-REE:
Oh yeah, and it's not in that clip, but also she knew what she wanted for her 1 million wish even before she hit it, but they didn't allow her to request it until after she hit 1 million. They could have started planning it earlier because it's obviously just a matter of time when the talent is at 990k (talk to the artists, get concepts fleshed out, etc), but the Japanese autism required waiting until it's official.

Retard, it should obviously be hats, not meds.
So here, she hit 1mil Jan 26 2024 and her birthday is August 4th. That's ~ 8 months.
Matsuri hit hers June 1st 2021. Her Million wish was a stage, happened Jul 22, 2022. So over a year for something way simpler then a 3D model.
Let's look at Holoen:
Kiara - May 30 2021. Wish - Jun 11 2022 Dirndl 2D costume. Over a year
Calli - Jan 25 2021. Wish - April 1st 2023 Sheriff 2D outfit. Over 2 years
Gura - October 22, 2020. Wish - May 1 2025 assuming Atlantis 3D model. 4+ years
Ina - May 27 2021. Wish - ??
Ame - Feb 11 2021. Wish - November 10 2021 Paladins announcer pack. 1 month for a sponsored voice pack
Bae - Dec 12 2024. Wish - ??
Kronii - October 3 2024. Wish - ??
Pretty obvious considering Kiara and Calli's pipelines that a 3D model wouldn't be done in time.

Why would Cover work on something before the milestone?
Yeah, 'rrats', sure. Darned Mumei telling rrats about her own experiences.
So she wanted a 3d outfit, stage that might be semi-custom and potential English perms? That's a lot.

Mumei would have had her wish fulfilled if she stayed. They worked on the outfit for an unknown period of time so maybe Cover was reluctant to change course and give her a different wish. Not sure why you think Cover stealth stops work when: Vesper got a new model before leaving, Magni got a new model before leaving, Gura debuted her 3D model before leaving, Chloe got new 2D hairstyles and Coco got her purple dragon 1mill 2D costume after announcing their graduations.

Anyways for "fun" here are all the EN talent assets added between 2024 and when she graduated - April 25 2025

Nice writeup, I do think people tend to act like Cover targets their oshis and fails on purpose rather than just being like a huge rigid machine where bending the rules to benefit certain situations is not allowed and each thing depends on like a dozen people so unless you really push for it it will just get lost in the shuffle.

The asset count doesn't even include the JPs, IDs and Stars, and that does bring to mind the fact that a lot of people seem to think EN exists in a vacuum, or that they don't share the same resources as everyone else higher up. It happens a lot when it comes to performances and concerts, some have questioned why they take so long to produce ignoring that events have increased massively in frequency with the new studio, a lot of people seem to resent the JPs for having more events even when there are more than double the JPs in the company. Actually take the time to count every 3D project that gets produced and you will realize that the studio is likely booked year-round and working at near capacity already, Cover didn't slow down on the debuts just for funsies, there's an obvious capacity and logistics cap on things.

All this discussion of asset production timeline is actually pretty relevant to that Shigeki Hayashi interview article. He goes over the "timeline" briefly in one of the questions:
Screenshot 2025-05-13 at 13-49-58 The Future of VTubers Shigeaki Hayashi SVP on the Creative P...png
"For the talents of hololive production, creative assets are truly their “weapons,” and we’re always eager to provide them with new ones as quickly as possible. With that in mind, throughout the production process, we focus on responding to talents’ requests promptly and delivering high-quality results without delay. When it comes to the production of shows including performance direction and costume design, we place a strong emphasis on discussions with the talents. We often hold meetings while sketching ideas on the spot, and there are also times when our in-house staff actively brings forward their own proposals. It typically takes about two to three months to produce various assets, while show production – from planning to livestreaming – usually takes around four to six months.

In terms of quality control, we work to improve the quality of our deliverables through weekly review meetings and full team settings held every two months. We also stay on top of trends and needs by conducting surveys with talents and closely monitoring industry developments. Through these efforts, we stay mindful of both the talents’ and creators’ perspectives, focusing on what will make fans happy and what they truly want as we shape our creative direction."

Source: https://coveredge.cover-corp.com/en/list/1537

Granted, he's probably talking about this in a more recent context in lieu of all the process improvement and staff hirings they've done. Also important tidbit about that interview is he mentions that the department is currently handling "1000 projects a year, both big and small":

Screenshot 2025-05-13 at 13-57-36 The Future of VTubers Shigeaki Hayashi SVP on the Creative P...png
"The Creative Production Department is made up of a wide range of staff. We have artists, engineers, project management staff, studio technical staff, and live broadcast directors, along with the Production Promotion Division, which focuses specifically on project management. Our team provides strong creative support for our talents while also handling all aspects of production needed for streaming, all under one roof. The Production Promotion Division plays a key role in bridging all the different teams and keeping projects moving forward.

Right now, we handle around 1,000 projects a year – both big and small, and covering all production-related work within the company. Our responsibilities are wide-ranging – from building production frameworks and setting creative direction to managing team members, planning and executing budgets, and coordinating with other departments and external partners. Ultimately, our mission is to create an environment where we can collaborate smoothly with our talents through all of these efforts."
