I think there is more poignant, relevant and informative things said about vtubers and the industry in this forum than in any of these fucking papers.
You can't calculate the complex, multinational, constantly evolving social behaviors and emotional responses of millions of people by feeding random reddit posts to an AI. Or interviewing 24 koreans. or 16 random vtubers of no perceivable prominence. Wtf are these sample sizes? Is this supposed to be scientific?
All of these just seem to be made by random weeby undergrads in East/southeast Asia studying whatever the fuck who chose the most cringe inducing topic possible that still somehow got accepted and fucking published. I look at these papers like the ig nobel awards. They aren't that deep. Raden, Clear/Rocket chan and Kakapo research are all vtubers that overlap with academics and there are others in the EN sphere as well if vtuber perspective is what is most important.

My only issue with any of this is you seem convinced that the "leaders" will hang back and let their minions work. While that can be true it's not universal in fact in most bulling cases the leader is the obvious instigator with their minions following after they are prompted
