I didn't really complain when it happened in Starfield, just rolled my eyes, because it can make sense in the context of the world, it's a progressive and largely bland post-apocalyptic future, right? I'm still not happy with it. Fallout shouldn't really have pronoun garbage but it's still not impossible to work in, in some really far-out way in a post-apocalypse dystopia where society has broken down, very much similar to how Cyberpunk does it, it could be a good critique of declining social norms.

Elder Scrolls should absolutely say Male/Female... it's medieval fantasy with real racism/xenophobia whatever still very prevalent and that's why it's beloved. I want to be turned away at town gates for being a "lesser" race. I want Altmer to sneer at me and try to genocide. Nobody in that world is trying to change their pronouns or demolish gender norms. It makes zero sense in the context of the world and should never, ever be included. Boggles the mind why they decided to.

Though they did touch up the character creator, so I'm hoping that if they hadn't had to change some things there, it wouldn't have been changed. Bethesda isn't very far into the woke stuff from what they've presented so far, they're very lukewarm and boomer in how they go about it. Not excusable, but they have no bite.

It's Pippa, by the time she gets to reading the old Supa's from the next few days and gets reminded she mentioned Oblivion at all someone will have the new leveling system modded into original Oblivion and she can just play the best of both worlds

I will maintain that Oblivion remake is the best of both worlds if you want an authentic experience, and you can always pirate it (or use Gamepass ig) if you don't want to directly support the body type thing. It's quite literally the original game engine with UE5 acting as a pretty facade. It also looks better than the AAA budget, 10+ year horrifying development of Starfield, runs better too. There's a certain kind of remaster where it makes the original pointless to play (like the Xenoblade games had, Twilight Princess/Wind Waker HD, Metroid Prime Remastered, mostly Nintendo games off the top of my head) and this is one of those. It's not like Persona 3 Reload, Yakuza Kiwami, or Demon's Souls (maybe? haven't played that one) where there's reason to return to the original.

It's looking like eventually we'll have the old Oblivion mods able to be brought over, too.

regarding the claymore watchalong i had planned for sunday & monday, i'm probably going to move it to friday & saturday night at 9 (assuming pippa continues streaming early, if at all). do you think this is a safe assumption to make?

this is due to the metokur stream on sunday, as well as it being the weekend nights where 5 hours of anime is easier for more people.
